Fire Alarm Alarm Design & Technical Support Specialist / Pre-sales – Fire Safety

Location: Milton Keynes, UK
Working pattern: Office-based

Summary

Kidde Global Solutions is looking for an experienced Technical Support / Pre-Sales Specialist to join our team in Milton Keynes. You will help design fire safety solutions, provide technical support, prepare quotations and work closely with our Business Development team to support sales across the UK and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

You will also help customers solve technical problems and provide support after the sale to ensure they get the best from our products.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Work with the business development team to design fire safety solutions and prepare quotations and cost estimates.

• Provide technical advice and support to customers, partners and colleagues.

• Help customers solve technical problems with fire alarm and smoke detection systems.

• Work with Sales, Business Development and Product Management to find the right solutions for customers.

• Explain the benefits of our products and how they compare with other products on the market.

• Attend customer meetings and deliver technical presentations.

• Provide product training to customers and business partners.

• Provide technical support by phone, online and during customer visits.

• Share customer feedback and help identify ways to improve our products and solutions.

• Keep technical documents, product information, test reports and certifications up to date.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in the fire safety or fire alarm industry.

• Good knowledge of fire alarm and smoke detection systems.

• Experience designing fire safety systems and providing technical support.

• Knowledge of fire safety standards, particularly EN standards. Knowledge of UL standards is an advantage.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication skills and confidence when speaking with customers.

• The ability to manage different tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.

• A positive, practical and customer-focused approach.

Don't have AutoCAD experience? That's absolutely fine. AutoCAD is useful for this role, but training can be provided, so we welcome applications from candidates who are keen to learn.

Education and Qualifications

We welcome candidates from a range of technical backgrounds. A degree in Electrical, Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering is an advantage, but it is not essential.

Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience in the fire safety industry are equally valued. If you have the practical skills and technical knowledge needed for the role, we would love to hear from you.

• Travel: Approximately 20%, including travel to the MENA region
