Fish Farming - Technical Adviser

We are conducting an urgent confidential search on behalf of our Client to support a sustainable aquaculture strategy assignment in the Mediterranean region. The established aquaculture business produces sea bream and sea bass.

FISH FARMING / AQUACULTURE TECHNICAL ADVISER - project based

We are particularly interested in senior specialists with substantial practical experience in Mediterranean marine fish farming, ideally from the Greek aquaculture sector, although strong candidates from other Mediterranean countries will also be considered.

THE PROJECT:

• Technical and operational diagnosis
• Recommendations for sustainable production improvement
• Environmental and certification gap assessment
• Production and performance optimization
• Timeframe: apr 12+months
• Part time consultancy with remote work and maybe on-site visits

THE PERSON's RELEVANT EXPERIENCE with:

• offshore cage production of sea bream and sea bass; experience with meagre & cleaned fish is an advantage
• processing of cleaned fish and fillets, including yield, cold chain, shelf life and by-product management
• production performance and biomass management
• feeding strategies, feed conversion optimization and mortality reduction
• food safety systems such as ISO22000/HACCP GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture
• waste and environmental management
• export coordination with quality department and certifications.

THE PERSON:

• Relevant experience in fish-farming/aquacaulture
• We are interested in understanding the strongest areas of expertise of the candidate, not expected to cover all listed experience needs.
