Job Description: Flooring Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Flooring Estimator to join our team. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for reviewing project plans, performing accurate material takeoffs,
preparing cost estimates, and supporting the sales and project management teams with timely
and competitive bids. Experience in residential and commercial flooring projects is highly
preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Review archite
ctural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
Perform accurate flooring material takeoffs for carpet, hardwood, LVP, laminate, tile,
vinyl, and related products.
Prepare detailed labor and material cost estimates.
Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
Request and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare and submit bid proposals within project deadlines.
Maintain estimating spreadsheets, databases, and pricing records.
Coordinate with project managers, sales representatives, and clients to clarify project
requirements.
Assist with value engineering and alternative product recommendations.
Ensure estimates comply with company standards and project specifications.
Support change order pricing and project revisions as needed.
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience as a Flooring Estimator or in a similar construction estimating
role.
Strong understanding of residential and commercial flooring materials and installation
methods.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with estimating software such as MeasureSquare, FloorRight, RFMS M
easure, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
Experience working on U.S. residential and commercial flooring projects.
Familiarity with commercial bidding platforms and project management software.
