Your Role As Flutter Developer in Lisbon, you independently own and ship features in Thorit's Flutter product, fully integrated into the Germany-based Flutter team's daily workflow. You maintain crash-free rate above 99.5% and a code review turnaround of under 24 hours. We are hiring this role because the Flutter team in Germany is at capacity, creating bottlenecks in feature delivery and increasing turnaround times on client-facing mobile projects. The Lisbon-based seat expands engineering bandwidth across timezones while maintaining tight daily collaboration with the core team. Without this hire, the engineering organisation cannot meet its 2026 mobile product roadmap commitments. Your Responsibilities Onboarding. Within 3 months, fully ramped on codebase, toolchain (Jira, Confluence, Git), and daily team rituals; delivering reviewed PRs independently. First Owned Feature. Within 3 months, ship the first self-owned feature to production with full test coverage and zero critical post-release bugs. Architecture Contribution. Within 6 months, participate in architecture decisions; articulate and defend state management choices (BLoC, Riverpod) in team reviews. Major Feature Delivery. Lead end-to-end delivery of at least one major feature within 9 months: design, QA, App Store and Play Store release. Production Stability. Maintain crash-free rate >= 99.5% across all owned features; respond to production incidents within SLA. Backend Touchpoints. Handle Node.js and REST backend integration tasks independently; no bottleneck on the Germany team. CI/CD Improvements. Contribute to pipeline improvements (build time, test reliability, deployment automation). Async Collaboration. Documentation, async updates, and PR comments meet team standards with no follow-up required. You can reason about widget lifecycle, performance bottlenecks, and custom rendering. You have personally debugged a non-trivial production crash using Flutter DevTools. State management depth: you have implemented BLoC or Riverpod in a production app at scale and can explain trade-offs vs. competing approaches. Cross-platform delivery experience: you have submitted and maintained apps on both App Store and Play Store, including signing, review policies, and release management. Backend integration: REST API design, Firebase (Firestore, Auth, FCM), and Node.js. You can write a basic endpoint or debug an integration without escalating. Quality ownership: unit and widget tests by default, not as an afterthought. You have personally caught a regression through test coverage. Native-level Portuguese plus business-fluent English. English is the daily working language with the Germany team. Lisbon-based with availability for 2 days per week at the Lisbon office. What Makes You Excel You work daily with a Germany-based team across timezones and leave PRs, Jira comments, and Confluence notes at a quality that removes the need for sync follow-up. You take accountability for post-release stability of your features. No "not my area" on production incidents. You flag blockers early and proactively, instead of staying stuck. You can disagree constructively with an architectural choice already in production, even when the original author sits in another country. You contribute to the codebase as a craftsperson, not just a ticket-closer.
