We're looking for a Python Developer to join our team and help build the backend services that power a food traceability engine. You'll work on a system centred on connected data (events, locations, products and the relationships between them) and on the integrations that keep that data flowing between our partners and our platform.
This is a hands-on role for someone who likes clean, typed, well-tested code, and who can take an ambiguous problem, break it down, and see it through to production.

We're looking for a Python Developer to join our team and help build the backend services that power a food traceability engine. You'll work on a system centred on connected data (events, locations, products and the relationships between them) and on the integrations that keep that data flowing between our partners and our platform.
This is a hands-on role for someone who likes clean, typed, well-tested code, and who can take an ambiguous problem, break it down, and see it through to production.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain Python services using FastAPI, async patterns and MongoDB with the Beanie ODM
- Model and query connected data (events, locations, products) and design efficient ways to traverse the relationships between them
- Write and maintain connectors, integrations that reliably move data between partner systems and our platform
- Ship with tests, code review and CI from day one
- Collaborate closely with the team: take part in standups, keep project tracking up to date, and raise questions and blockers early
Required
- Strong Python experience, including typed, async and well-tested code
- Solid understanding of modelling and querying relational and connected data: entities, relationships, and how to traverse them efficiently
- Self-driven, able to turn an ambiguous problem into a clear plan and run with it
- Strong team communication. You show up to standups, keep tracking current, are responsive on Slack, and surface issues clearly and early
- Comfortable using AI coding tools while staying healthily sceptical. You verify their output and don't trust it blindly
- Experience with modern engineering practices: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, project tracking tools, linting, automated testing and TDD, debugging, and high-availability software practices
- Experience building integrations with third-party APIs (REST, webhooks, data sync)
- Familiarity with graph-style data modelling or graph databases
- Experience with Docker and cloud deployment
