About Us

Bolt6 was founded in 2021 by Emmy Award-winning innovators with one goal: to change how the world experiences sport. Today, we deliver more than 2,500 events a year for elite sport around the globe. Our technology brings fans closer to the action, delivers decisions people believe in, and unlocks new revenue for leagues and federations.

What You’ll Do

We're looking for an Operations Manager to lead the global delivery of our football VAR and semi-automated offside systems. You'll make sure our technology is deployed and run flawlessly, working closely with our internal teams, clients and partners to deliver the highest standards of service in live sport.

This role involves regular international travel, with hybrid working in between events. You will also be responsible for:

  • Ownership: Taking full ownership of the successful delivery of every event in your area, on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
  • Team Leadership: Leading a global team of riggers, engineers and operators, and reshaping our operating models to make delivery more efficient.
  • Client relationships: Acting as the main point of contact for clients, managing expectations and keeping everyone clear on status, technical requirements and logistics.
  • Logistics and planning: Building and executing detailed plans for equipment shipping, installation schedules and staffing at venues worldwide.
  • Staffing and recruitment: Identifying the full-time and freelance staff we need, then finding and hiring them.
  • Quality and troubleshooting: Putting rigorous quality control in place and providing on-site support to resolve issues fast when it matters most.
  • Health and safety: Making sure every operation meets local and international health and safety standards, including risk assessments and equipment checks.
  • Continuous improvement: Using performance data and client feedback to keep raising the bar on how we deliver.
  • Budgets: Managing event budgets, tracking costs and reporting regularly, working with procurement and finance to use resources well.
  • Training and development: Making sure the technical team has the skills and knowledge to deliver at the highest level.
  • Contracts and invoicing: Understanding our contractual obligations for each event, making sure we meet them in full, and making sure every event is invoiced correctly and on time.

To do all this well, you'll need to be comfortable on site with the delivery team, building relationships across the industry and using your commercial and technical instincts to spot new opportunities for growth.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven operations management experience in sports technology or broadcasting, with a strong track record of delivering global projects.
  • Strong leadership, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams and pushing yourself and others to deliver world-leading products and services in a highly competitive space.
  • A self-starter who can pick up projects and run with them independently.
  • Quick, sound decision-making, especially under pressure and against tight deadlines.
  • Technically competent and intellectually curious, able to grasp new concepts and technology quickly and get to the bottom of complex problems.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: able to look at things differently and never satisfied with the status quo
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends around event schedules.

Nice to Haves

  • A love of sport!
  • Experience working in live sports events or broadcasting environments.
  • Technical knowledge of camera systems, tracking software, and broadcasting equipment.
  • Familiarity with international logistics and experience managing projects in diverse cultural settings.
  • Proficiency in additional languages.
  • A degree in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) subject.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary depending on experience and skillset.
  • Bonus scheme.
  • Ownership and autonomy of your work.
  • Health and wellbeing stipend.
  • A real career path in a business that's growing fast.
  • The chance to work in elite sport and travel to major events around the world.
  • A team where you'll be challenged, valued and respected, with no office politics.
  • Flexible working hours.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in the UK or EU, preferably with around two days a week in our London, Winchester, or Gliwice office when you're not travelling.
