Role Description This is a full-time remote role for powerline technicians, apprentices, and operators of all kinds. Team members will perform day-to-day maintenance and construction work on overhead and underground power lines, including inspections, repairs, installations, and upgrades on energized and de-energized systems. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining tools, vehicles, and equipment; following safety procedures and regulatory standards; and completing work documentation and reports. Personnel will collaborate with field crews, supervisors, and utility clients to plan work, respond to service requests, and support projects from preparation through completion. Some travel to job sites will be required, along with participation in scheduled and emergency response work.

Qualifications

• Technical and field skills in powerline work, such as experience with overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems, basic electrical knowledge, and safe use of line tools and equipment.
• Safety-focused capabilities, including familiarity with relevant safety regulations, hazard identification, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to safe work practices in energized and de-energized environments.
• Operational and equipment skills, such as operating bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related machinery, performing routine equipment checks, and supporting set-up and tear-down at work sites.
• Teamwork and communication skills, including clear communication with crew members and supervisors, ability to follow instructions and procedures, and collaborative problem-solving on job sites.
• Physical capability to work outdoors in varying conditions, perform climbing and lifting tasks, and work at heights as required for powerline construction and maintenance.
• Relevant certifications or apprenticeship status in powerline work, electrical utility work, or a related trade; completion of recognized apprenticeship programs is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; commercial or specialized licenses are an asset.
• Previous experience in utility, construction, or powerline contracting environments is preferred but motivated apprentices are encouraged to apply.
