MBN Solutions is recruiting a Forward Deployed Engineer for an established European industrial group. You’ll work directly with manufacturing teams, understand how their processes work and turn high-value opportunities into reliable software used in day-to-day operations.

The work spans the full delivery cycle: discovery, architecture, hands-on development, integration, rollout and improvement after launch. You’ll help connect engineering information with commercial and operational systems, tackling problems such as quoting, product configuration, bills of materials and ERP workflows.

What you’ll do

• Work on-site with operators, engineers and business leaders to understand workflows and identify practical opportunities for AI.
• Build and deploy applications using Python, APIs, SQL and modern front-end technologies.
• Integrate LLM and agent-based capabilities with existing systems and on-premises infrastructure.
• Define evaluations, monitor performance and measure results such as processing time, accuracy and adoption.
• Make sensible decisions about what to build, buy or integrate, and where human review is needed.
• Turn successful implementations into components and approaches that can be reused across other businesses.

What you’ll bring

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience, including taking applications from an initial idea into production.
• Experience delivering LLM or agent-based systems with evaluation and real users.
• Customer-facing implementation experience, including working directly with teams on-site.
• At least one relevant industrial use case involving manufacturing processes, product configuration, quoting, CAD, ERP or bills of materials.
• Python, SQL and API integration skills, plus the ability to build usable application interfaces and manage deployment.
• Professional working German, at least B2, with the confidence to discuss technical and operational problems with German-speaking teams.
• A degree in computer science, engineering or a quantitative discipline.
• Willingness to travel regularly to operating sites in Germany, including periods of intensive on-site delivery.

Experience with React/TypeScript, Azure or GCP, LangGraph, RAG, MCP, SAP or ProAlpha would be useful. Your ability to explain what you have built and how it improved a workflow will be central to the discussion.

This role combines remote work with regular time at German operating sites. The exact cadence depends on the assignment and delivery phase. Target total cash includes a performance-related bonus; final package details will be discussed during the process.
