Founding Engineer #2

We’re hiring a second Founding Engineer! You’ll be team member #5, working closely with co-founders Joseph + Wilbur and our engineering team and you’ll have significant ownership over the parts of the product you want to cover. As an early engineer, you will be all over the codebase, from spinning up infra to placing pixels on the frontend. We think we’ll be the strongest team you've ever been a part of -- if you're a killer engineer, would love to chat! Ideally you: Love to work with new technologies and are excited about solving challenging and unfamiliar technical problems Work hard and take pride in your work Thrive in a fast-paced small team/startup environment (we’re in-person in San Francisco) Enjoy building transformational tools for a fast-paced customer set Some of the open technical problems that we could use your help with: Creating “non-traditional” data streams on companies and people / deriving useful structured data from unstructured text A system that learns preferences from sparse customer product interactions (overrides, upvotes/downvotes) and automatically iterates towards better messaging Building robust infrastructure for sending outbound messages that can scale to the level that our customers operate at (many thousands / day, 100k’s of LLM calls/day) Figuring out how our outreach engine can use non-traditional selling channels (SMS, direct mail) in addition to emails & phone calls to give our customers a competitive advantage Our tech stack includes: Python, React (Typescript), Postgres, MongoDB, AWS, + a lot of LLM pipeline stuff that we can chat about Some of the aspects of building at Meticulate that we love and hopefully excite you too: Tackling complex problems that could never done before LLMs Re-imagining what great UI/UX looks like for agent-native products Working with the strongest technical team we’ve all ever been a part of Shipping very fast and seeing customers love the product A lively in-person atmosphere in our founder apartment office in SF Founder backgrounds Joseph: Berkeley EECS → NLP Research Scientist → Startup Engineer at multiple Series A/B startups Wilbur: MIT CS → McKinsey → Commercial Strategy & Sales Operations at Series E startup
