Role summary The Head of Business Operations is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving Matchii's company-wide operating system. This role ensures the entire organization operates efficiently, executes strategically, and scales sustainably by establishing clear operational frameworks, aligning cross-functional teams, and driving execution across the business. As the leader of the Business Operations department, you will oversee Business Excellence, Finance & Legal, People & Culture, and Project Management while partnering closely with Product & Engineering and Strategic Growth to enable company-wide success. What you'll own Company Operations & Operating System Build, maintain, and continuously improve Matchii's company-wide operating system. Design organizational structures, governance models, and operational frameworks. Establish company-wide operating rhythms, planning cycles, and decision-making processes. Develop scalable policies, SOPs, and business standards. Ensure operational excellence across the entire organization. Continuously improve efficiency through AI, automation, and process optimization. Business Operations Leadership Lead the Business Operations department. Build and develop the Business Excellence, Finance & Legal, People & Culture, and Project Management functions. Set department objectives, priorities, and performance metrics. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Cross-functional Execution Align Business Operations with Product & Engineering and Strategic Growth. Translate company strategy into operational execution. Drive company-wide initiatives and strategic projects. Remove execution bottlenecks and improve collaboration across departments. Ensure organizational priorities are delivered effectively. Business Intelligence & Strategic Planning Build KPI dashboards and operational reporting. Provide business insights through data and market analysis. Support strategic planning, forecasting, and business reviews. Enable data-informed decision making across the company. Organizational Readiness & Scaling Ensure the organization is prepared to scale efficiently. Support fundraising readiness through operational maturity and reporting. Build systems that support sustainable growth and organizational resilience. Continuously evolve the company's operating model as Matchii grows. Who we're looking for 8+ years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy, Chief of Staff, Consulting, or other cross-functional leadership roles in startups or high-growth companies. Proven experience building scalable operating systems, processes, and cross-functional execution frameworks. Strong understanding of Business Operations across People & Culture, Finance & Legal, Project Management, and Business Excellence. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to turn company goals into operational execution and measurable outcomes. Highly proficient in leveraging AI tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting, documentation, and organizational productivity. Exceptional systems thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A hands-on builder who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and is passionate about building the operational foundation that enables Matchii to scale sustainably.
