The Strategic Payment Business Department manages and develops our global merchant-side payment ecosystem across 27 countries and all channels (ECOM, MOTO, POS). We optimize the payment experience, manage costs, mitigate risks, and integrate innovative payment methods while acting as a central interface between Business, IT, payment providers, and internal stakeholders. As a Fraud Expert (m/f/d), you will lead our fraud prevention strategy, protect global operations, and drive strategic initiatives. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT You own and drive the company-wide fraud prevention strategy across all products and channels aligned with risk appetite You monitor transactions in real-time, optimize fraud detection rules and models, and identify emerging threats through data analysis and market intelligence You evaluate, implement, and manage advanced fraud prevention technologies and collaborate cross-functionally with Payment, Risk, IT, Data, Compliance, Customer Service, and payment providers You manage escalated fraud incidents, deliver fraud insights and KPIs, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management You act as a trusted fraud risk advisor influencing decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards You lead initiatives to improve payment success rates, reduce losses, and strengthen customer trust YOUR SKILLS MATTER Education You have a degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Computer Science, or related fields Experience You bring several years of experience in payments, e-commerce, or fraud risk, ideally in merchant, PSP, or acquirer environments Know-how You possess strong knowledge of payment processes, authorization logic, and fraud typologies Skills You have an analytical mindset with technical affinity; experience with fraud tools and scripting (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus Soft Skills You demonstrate leadership skills and communicate confidently at all levels Languages You are fluent in German and English WHAT WE OFFER Extra benefits Enjoy discounts on SIXT rent, share, ride and SIXT+, attractive vehicle leasing offers, and exclusive deals with partners for travel, tech, fashion and more AI at your fingertips From day one, you'll have access to Claude by Anthropic and SIXTgpt, SIXT's own AI platform, to supercharge your work.
