Freelance Brand Designer | Hybrid (Johannesburg), Remote Considered | ASAP–30 Nov 2026 | R650/hour

This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Brand Designer to support the development and application of established brand concepts across integrated channels.

This is primarily a hands-on design role rather than an art-direction position. The successful freelancer will help bring approved concepts, messaging and creative direction to life through strong brand design, typography and visual execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute brand and co-branding designs.
  
• Apply brand identities consistently across integrated channels.
  
• Create and refine brand guidelines and design systems.
  
• Translate approved concepts, messaging and creative direction into compelling visual work.
  
• Work with the content team to bring ideas to life from a design perspective.
  
• Design typography, graphic screens, end boards and other branded assets.
  
• Contribute creative design thinking and practical visual solutions.
  
• Maintain a consistently high standard across all deliverables.
  

Requirements

• Minimum of five years' relevant design experience.
  
• Strong hands-on brand-design and brand-application experience.
  
• Proven experience developing co-branded materials and brand guidelines.
  
• Strong typography, layout and visual-design skills.
  
• Experience designing across integrated channels.
  
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior creative and operational leadership.
  
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant brand-design work.
  
• Own laptop and licensed design software.
  

Advertising-agency experience is not essential, provided the candidate has strong, relevant brand-design experience.
