freelance computational architectural designer

Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a freelance Computational Architectural Designer collaborating with NAMAT’s product and operations teams. The designer will develop architectural concepts and spatial layouts that support the company’s consumer goods facilities, display environments, and related built contexts. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining architectural designs, generating construction drawings, and producing detailed digital models using computational tools and parametric design methods. The role involves translating functional requirements into efficient architectural solutions, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The designer will work independently, manage project timelines, and deliver clear documentation suitable for implementation by engineering and construction partners.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate functional and branding needs into spatial concepts.
• Proficiency in Construction Drawings and technical documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and detail drawings.
• Skilled in Drawing and digital modeling, with experience in computational or parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo, Revit).
• Understanding of Urban Planning principles and their application to site layout, circulation, and contextual integration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Computational Design, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working in a freelance or contract capacity, with strong time management and remote collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate design intent clearly through visual presentations and written documentation in English.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards; experience with industrial, retail, or consumer goods environments is a plus.
