Freelance Remote: Experienced Game Localization Expert (Chinese to English)

Responsibilities Translate in-game text, marketing materials, and docs from Chinese to English (target 3K to 4k Chinese characters/day). Proofread and polish localized content (dialogue, UI, item descriptions, tutorials), ensuring fluency, grammar, consistency, and cultural appropriateness (target 6k to 8k Chinese characters/day). Work with the localization team to align content with gameplay and narrative, flag cultural sensitivities, and use CAT tools to maintain translation memories and glossaries. Requirements Language: either native English with advanced Chinese (HSK6) or native Chinese with advanced English (IELTS 8.5 / CEFR C2). 3+ years in game localization (Chinese to English) with CAT tool proficiency. Strong cultural awareness of English-speaking markets, attention to detail, self-motivated, able to work remotely/asynchronously. Passion for gaming and familiarity with gaming Preferred: Experience with Leading Chinese game developers, interest in ACG, scifi/fantasy, history/mythology, and background in linguistics or creative writing; knowledge of localization workflows.
