Our client

People & Products has been exclusively engaged by our client, an international B2B SaaS company, to hire a freelance senior Product Manager (assignment for 3 months) to discover, validate and prototype emerging products.

Your role

As a Senior Product Manager, you take full ownership of one key customer use case. You start with the customer’s problem and the data behind it, build prototypes, shape the roadmap and launch, and stay accountable for the result in the market. Together with senior engineers and product specialists, you set the ambition, translate requirements and bring new products to market.

You build things yourself rather than coordinate others. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, broad product person who tests ideas with a working prototype before discussing them, uses AI to work faster, talks to customers directly and measures success by impact, not by what was delivered.

What you'll do

  • Product vision: Define a clear, shared end-to-end vision for your customer case: what the customer experience should look like, where today’s gaps are, and the steps to go from catching up to leading the market.
  • Know the market: Understand the technical requirements of your use case and how competitors and customers currently tackle it. Gather input wherever you can: partners, conferences, webinars and other sources.
  • Validate: Test problems and prototypes with customers, program leads and development partners, together with the use case owners and commercial teams.
  • Build prototypes: Use AI tools to build working demos and lightweight services, and test your assumptions before engineering commits. Show the team what’s possible by building it, not by explaining it.
  • Move the build forward: Work closely with engineering to remove blockers and keep momentum, across different parts of the product, together with other teams or on your own.
  • Bring it to market: Work closely with the use case owners and commercial teams to make what you build, lands in the market.
  • Own the result: Define what success looks like, hold yourself and the team to it, and make clear calls on whether to continue, change course or stop.

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on all-rounder: you switch easily between strategy, data, prototyping and go-to-market, and you’d rather build something rough that teaches you something than spend time perfecting an idea on paper.
  • AI in your daily work: in your product work, in discovery, analysis, prototyping, measurement and communication. Not just for one-off tasks: you set up agents with your product context and earlier research, and share your AI workflows with your team.
  • Customer-driven: your conviction comes from real customer input, not from what’s easy to build.
  • Fast and decisive: you make decisions with incomplete information, know which decisions can be reversed and which can’t, and change course quickly when you’re wrong.
  • Comfortable without full control: parts of your use case will always sit with other teams. You see working with that as part of the job.
  • Driven by impact: you want your work to contribute to a more sustainable economy.

Your profile

  • Experience: around 10 years, including owning a substantial product area end-to-end in B2B enterprise SaaS, with clear business and customer results to show for it.
  • Technical enough to build: you can create prototypes yourself with AI tools and LLM APIs.
  • AI already in your way of working: it’s part of how you work today, not something you still want to learn.
  • At home in complex domains: you have experience in a regulated, data-heavy environment, or the curiosity to get up to speed quickly.
  • Sharp thinking and communication: you frame problems clearly, come with a recommendation rather than an open question, and help engineering and design move faster by removing ambiguity.
  • You're fluent in English.
  • Available for a 3-month interim assignment, working remotely from NL, with occasional travel (less than 10%) to European offices.
  • Minimum availability of 32 hours p/week, starting asap (Oct/mid-Nov) latest.
  • You are based in the Netherlands and already work as a freelancer/contractor (ZZP'er or through your own BV).

Interested?

Please share your CV, your availability (incl. start date and hours p/week), and your expected hourly rate.
