Frontend Developer, Part-Time Contractor

About Us

We are a well-funded, early-stage AI lab focused on building the next generation of frontier multimodal AI models. Founded by former DeepMind researchers, including Andrew Dai, who was previously a leader on Gemini. Our team currently consists of 20 world-class scientists and engineers. We recently raised $55M in seed funding from Striker Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Altimeter Capital, and NVIDIA. We are tackling some of the hardest problems in artificial intelligence, and we are growing fast.

About the Role

We are looking for a part-time frontend developer to build and maintain the frontend for our product and marketing surfaces. This is a contractor role, estimated at 10-20 hrs/week, with flexibility to scale based on need.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend components for our website and product surfaces

• Implement responsive, polished UI from design direction or rough specs

• Debug and resolve frontend issues as they arise

• Support ongoing iteration

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience

• Proficiency in React/Next.js

• Strong eye for responsive design and UI polish

• Comfortable working independently with minimal spec

Preferred qualifications (strong candidates may have some, not all):

• Experience working with early-stage startups

• Familiarity with design tools (Figma) for translating mockups to code

Logistics

• Location: This role can be remote or on-site in Palo Alto, California.

• Compensation: $60-100/hr, depending on experience
