About the Opportunity

CoBank is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help drive a large-scale cloud modernization initiative focused on migrating and modernizing critical financial systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled software engineer who thrives in complex enterprise environments, enjoys solving difficult technical problems, and can independently design, build, and troubleshoot scalable applications.

The team is looking for a true engineer, not someone who has only surface-level exposure to the technology stack. Candidates must be able to code live, explain architectural decisions, troubleshoot production issues, and demonstrate end-to-end ownership of enterprise applications.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices solutions
• Design and develop cloud-native applications in AWS
• Modernize legacy applications and integrate enterprise systems
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs using Python and Node.js
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance
• Participate in system design discussions and architectural decision-making
• Support cloud migration, platform modernization, and infrastructure optimization initiatives

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on coding experience with:
  • Python
  • Node.js
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • SQL
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• System design and architecture experience
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and design approaches
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

• Financial services or banking industry experience
• Experience modernizing legacy applications

• Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
