๐ MARV is hiring: Full-Stack AI Engineer (Founding Team)
We're building MARV โ a multi-agent Legal AI platform and portable trust infrastructure for the agentic economy. Our mission: Think Freeยฎ. We turn messages, calls, and shared files into confirmed terms โ across jurisdictions, across languages, across the messy reality of how legal and financial agreements actually get made.
We're not stitching together someone else's API and calling it a product. We're building our own AI ecosystem โ proprietary infrastructure, our own models and orchestration layer, owned end-to-end rather than rented from a third party. If that excites you more than plugging into an existing stack, keep reading.
We're looking for our first (or founding) AI engineer โ someone who can own the full stack, not just the model layer.
What you'll do:
- Help design and build MARV's own AI infrastructure โ not just integrate third-party model APIs, but shape the architecture we own
- Design and ship RAG pipelines over legal and financial documents โ embeddings, retrieval, chunking strategies that actually hold up under scrutiny
- Build and orchestrate the agentic workflows that power MARV's core product experience, on infrastructure we control
- Own backend infrastructure end-to-end: APIs, vector databases, cloud deployment, scaling
- Build evaluation and guardrail systems to keep hallucination and error rates low in a domain where mistakes matter
- Work directly with our founding team to shape product, architecture, and roadmap โ not just execute someone else's spec
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of production software engineering experience, with hands-on work shipping LLM-powered features (not just side projects)
- Genuine interest in building proprietary AI infrastructure rather than only integrating third-party model APIs โ you want to own the stack, not rent it
- Real experience with RAG: vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, etc.), embeddings, and retrieval tuning
- Strong backend fundamentals โ Python and/or TypeScript, API design, cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization
- Comfort with agentic frameworks and a willingness to build custom orchestration rather than default to off-the-shelf tooling
- Exposure to open-source or self-hosted model deployment (fine-tuning, inference optimization, model serving) is a strong plus
- A bias toward shipping โ you'd rather ship a working v1 and iterate than perfect something in isolation
- Bonus: experience in a regulated industry (legal, fintech, healthcare) where privacy, auditability, and compliance are part of the job, not an afterthought
Why join now:
This is a founding-level seat โ you'll shape the architecture that scales with us, not inherit someone else's. We're building an independent AI ecosystem for a multi-jurisdictional, multi-agent future, and we want someone who wants to build the foundation, not just work on top of it.
๐ Location: flexible / remote-friendly
๐ฐ Comp: equity-forward at this stage, with compensation structured to scale as we close funding
