This role is for one of Weekday’s clients Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 2000000 (ie INR 15 - 20 LPA) Min Experience: 3+ years Location: Remote (India) JobType: full-time Note: Yearly twice must come to Chennai office for visit - Remote Job description We’re looking for a Product Engineer with 3–5 years of experience who is passionate about building high-quality, scalable systems. You will contribute to the development of backend & frontend services for our product, working closely with experienced engineers, designers, and product stakeholders. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in modern backend technologies, cloud-native development, and microservices architecture, while helping deliver reliable and performant features. Roles and Responsibilities Contribute to the design and development of backend services and APIs Develop new features using JavaScript / TypeScript (Node.js) Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices Work with SQL databases to design schemas and write efficient queries Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially using Cloud Run Containerise applications using Docker Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues and bugs Assist in improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of services Contribute to documentation for APIs, services, and workflows Work closely with frontend engineers, QA, and product managers Job requirement Must Have 3–5 years of experience in backend development. Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Hands-on experience with Node.js and backend frameworks (e.g., Express, Fastify, Hono). Solid understanding of RESTful API design and best practices. Strong experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimisation. Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised deployments. Experience deploying and managing applications on Cloud Run or similar platforms. Basic understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good to Have Experience with messaging systems like Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB). Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform). Experience with monitoring and observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing). Knowledge of system design fundamentals and scalability concepts. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Prior experience in SaaS or high-traffic applications.
