Full Stack Engineer (Onsite Hanoi)

Why we’re looking for you

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join GemBoss at an early stage and take end-to-end ownership of key product areas. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and the CTO/CEO to solve real problems for Shopify merchants, building a standalone product deeply integrated with Shopify and bringing practical AI into everyday store management.

This is an opportunity to make meaningful technical and product decisions from the ground up, rather than simply implementing predefined requirements. As GemBoss grows, you’ll also have room to expand into technical or people leadership, with potential paths toward Technical Lead or Engineering Manager based on your contributions and interests.

You’ll do

• Build and evolve GemBoss, an AI-powered store management product for Shopify merchants, from early-stage prototypes to a reliable, production-ready product.
• Own product development end to end, from responsive frontend experiences to backend services, APIs, data models, and third-party integrations.
• Build and maintain deep integrations with Shopify data and workflows while keeping GemBoss as a standalone product outside Shopify Admin.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and the CTO/CEO to understand merchant needs, shape technical solutions, and deliver small, testable iterations.
• Design, implement, and evaluate AI-powered workflows, balancing accuracy, usability, privacy, performance, and cost.
• Take responsibility for code quality, testing, observability, deployment, and resolving production issues.
• Contribute to technical decisions, engineering practices, and team workflows as the product evolves and the team grows.

You have

• Proven experience building and shipping production web products across both frontend and backend.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or an equivalent modern technology stack, with solid knowledge of UI architecture, APIs, databases, and system integration.
• The ability to design secure, maintainable services and troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs, authentication, permissions, and external data sources.
• A product-oriented mindset: comfortable navigating ambiguity, breaking down problems, building prototypes, validating ideas, and iterating based on feedback.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Design, and Engineering and take ownership from initial design through production.

Nice to have

• Experience with Shopify APIs, commerce platforms, merchant tools, or B2B SaaS products.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, evaluating AI outputs, and implementing guardrails or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.
