Job Description:

FULL STACK ENGINEER SENIOR Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Full Stack Engineer Senior supporting the Enterprise Portal and web application development efforts for CDMRP. GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.

This position provides an opportunity to work with a team of scientific and technical staff in support of the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). CDMRP is a global funding organization that represents a unique partnership among the US Congress, the military, and the public to manage individual programs for cancer research, military medical research, and other disease- and injury‑specific research. All programs share the common goal of advancing paradigm‑shifting research, solutions that will lead to cures or improvements in patient care, or breakthrough technologies and resources for clinical benefit. CDMRP implements the investment of congressionally directed dollars provided.

HOW FULL STACK ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Build and enhance Portal‑related web applications that deliver single sign‑on functionality and integrate micro‑services supporting CDMRP workflows.
● Actively participate in the full application lifecycle—eliciting requirements, creating front‑end and back‑end features, and developing responsive, highly functional web applications.
● Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Portal team, System Administrators, and IM/IT/IA staff to ensure applications meet security, usability, and performance requirements.
● Apply modern UX best practices to independently identify and resolve user pain points, improving system usability and overall user experience.
● Troubleshoot UI issues, optimize performance, fix defects, and modernize legacy applications using the latest technologies.
● Ensure compliance with Standard Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), DoD IM/IT security procedures, and proper reporting of security concerns.
● Build reusable code, templates, modules, artifacts, and libraries to support efficient development and future scalability.
● Write comprehensive documentation for RESTful API web services and support training and knowledge‑sharing within the team.
● Contribute subject matter expertise to technical staff on business system maintenance and development efforts, aiding in system design, process flows, and architectural documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: BS or equivalent + 4 yrs related experience
● Required Experience: 5 years of experience on a software development team; minimum 2 years full‑stack web application experience
● Required Technical Skills:
Java (JDK+), JavaScript (jQuery, React), PostgreSQL/RDBMS, MVVM/MVC, Object‑oriented programming, Apache Tomcat, HTML, XML, CSV, XLS output, Micro‑services, Unit and end‑to‑end testing, CSS (SASS, LESS), Node.js, AWS, Maven, Gradle, NPM
● Security Clearance Level: T3 Public Trust (must have or be able to obtain)
● Required Skills and Abilities:
Analytical and debugging skills, ability to build responsive web applications, UX awareness and improvement, troubleshooting, documentation, collaboration, adherence to DoD IM/IT/IA security practices
● Preferred Skills:
Experience with IDEs (Atom, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, NetBeans)

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
