Location & English requirements This is a fully remote position within the European Union, with priority given to candidates based in Poland. Other EU locations may also be considered. Strong English (Upper-Intermediate/C1 or higher) is required — all calls, discussions, and documentation happen fully in English, and you'll be expected to actively participate in technical conversations: asking questions, raising concerns, proposing alternatives. If your English is below this level, you likely won't feel comfortable in this role's day-to-day communication — so please keep that in mind before applying. Who we're looking for This is not a "heads-down, ticket-by-ticket" role. Our client's team is a well-established international group of up to 50 people, and they're explicit about what doesn't work for them: people who stay quiet in discussions, who wait to be told exactly what to do, or who seem to be splitting focus with other projects. What they want instead: Someone who speaks up - asks clarifying questions, flags risks, and isn't afraid to challenge an approach if they see a better one. Someone who treats this as their project, not a rotation - full commitment, no split attention across other engagements. Someone comfortable operating with a good degree of autonomy, while staying closely aligned with the team. Someone who brings ideas to code reviews and architecture discussions, not just implementations. Required skills Commercial experience with PHP and JavaScript, Middle+/Senior level Experience with modern JS frameworks (Vue.js preferred) Strong understanding of OOP, interfaces, and clean code principles Experience with PSR-4 standards and service-oriented architecture (SOA) Experience with unit testing (PHPUnit or similar) Upper-Intermediate+ English, spoken and written Demonstrated ability to communicate proactively: asking questions, giving feedback, contributing opinions in team settings Will be a plus Experience with MediaWiki Experience with enterprise web platforms or CMS Prior experience working in distributed international teams (not local outsourcing setups) Project description Our client is a German product company focused on enterprise wiki solutions based on MediaWiki, used by companies worldwide for internal documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management. This is a long-term product, not a short-term outsourcing project - the team has been building and refining this platform for years, with a strong focus on code quality, usability, and sustainable architecture. The team (Germany + EU, up to 50 people) genuinely values open communication and healthy work-life balance - but that culture depends on people who participate in it, not just execute tasks silently. Responsibilities Develop and maintain customer-specific features for BlueSpice Continuously improve and modernize the product Support the team with bug fixing and error analysis Write clean, maintainable, and testable code Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions — bring your perspective, don't just approve Work closely and communicatively with the German product team Technology stack PHP, JavaScript, Vue.js, MediaWiki, MySQL, Elasticsearch, PHPUnit, SOA, PSR-4 We offer Long-term, stable product project - full commitment expected, no parallel projects Direct collaboration with the German team Predictable workload and healthy work environment Interesting technical challenges and a mature, well-maintained codebase Competitive compensation Paid vacation and sick leave Optional business trips to Germany Professional growth within a strong product team
