Full Stack Product Lead

Company Description Rooftop Energy is a technology-first company focused on raising the standard for how energy assets are built and operated across the region. The team develops RooftopIQ, a work platform for solar EPCs that aligns all stakeholders from initial deal through project handover, alongside monitoring and operations software that supports assets throughout their lifecycle. With a single engineering team building multiple products on one platform, every solution is grounded in real-world needs and tested through the company’s own solar EPC operations. Recognised under Malaysia Digital (MD) status and based in Malaysia, Rooftop Energy operates as a fast-moving, high-standard engineering organization driven by precision, power, and progress.

Role Description The Full Stack Product Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in Damansara, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of product features across the stack, from technical architecture and implementation to deployment and monitoring. The person in this role collaborates closely with product management, designers, and operations teams to translate real project needs into robust, scalable software for RooftopIQ and related platforms. Day-to-day tasks include designing and reviewing system architecture, writing and maintaining clean, testable code, ensuring smooth integrations between front-end and back-end services, and optimizing performance and reliability. The role also involves mentoring engineers, improving development processes, and using field feedback from EPC operations to refine product direction and roadmap.

Qualifications

• Strong full stack engineering skills, including modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and back-end development in languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to design secure, scalable architectures.
• Product leadership capabilities, including roadmap ownership, stakeholder collaboration, and translating user and business needs into technical solutions.
• Background in building B2B SaaS or workflow platforms; exposure to energy, solar, or EPC operations is an advantage.
• Proficiency in code review, testing practices, and continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, fast-moving team, including mentoring peers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
