About the role

CloudPSO is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Technical Lead to own engineering execution for a client building operational software for alternative investment managers.

The existing platform supports configurable data ingestion, normalization, scheduling, calculations and reporting. Each customer has an isolated application and PostgreSQL database deployed within their own cloud environment.

You will partner with the client’s founder on product priorities while CloudPSO manages staffing and delivery. This position combines hands-on development with technical leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Own technical implementation, architecture decisions, code quality and release readiness.
  • Build features, resolve defects and review other engineers’ work.
  • Maintain configurable workflows and a metadata-driven PostgreSQL data model.
  • Preserve data integrity, version history, effective dates and auditability.
  • Develop secure APIs and enforce server-side authorization.
  • Support integrations involving APIs, SFTP, email, object storage and uploaded files.
  • Work with DevOps specialists to standardize customer installations, upgrades, database migrations and recovery procedures.
  • Establish automated testing and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Support security reviews, vulnerability remediation and SOC 2 readiness activities.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable engineering work and communicate risks.
  • Mentor engineers and coordinate technical delivery across the team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated senior-level ownership of production B2B software.
  • Strong hands-on frontend and backend development skills.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including schema design, transactions, migrations and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience building APIs, background jobs and reliable scheduled workflows.
  • Experience implementing authentication, authorization and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Practical experience with automated testing, Git, code reviews and CI/CD.
  • Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Ability to lead a small team while remaining an active developer.
  • Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of an existing application and work through incomplete specifications.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in financial services, investment operations or other sensitive-data environments.
  • Experience managing single-tenant deployments across customer environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS, infrastructure as code and containerized applications.
  • Experience with metadata-driven applications, temporal data models or slowly changing dimensions.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 controls and secure software development.
  • Experience working directly with founders or small product teams.
First 90 days
  • Learn and document the platform’s architecture and major workflows.
  • Establish a prioritized backlog, code-review practices and release procedures.
  • Deliver agreed improvements and strengthen tests around critical workflows.
  • Help validate deployment, migration and recovery procedures.
  • Identify significant security and reliability gaps and develop a prioritized remediation plan.
Employment requirements

Employment is subject to verification of work authorization, employment history and professional references. Candidates will participate in a technical assessment relevant to the role.

Core engineering work must be performed within the United States. Access to client systems is subject to applicable confidentiality and security requirements. Any on-call or after-hours responsibilities will be agreed separately.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary based on experience.
  • Employer-sponsored medical insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Paid vacation, sick leave and company holidays.
  • Company-provided equipment.
Benefits are subject to plan eligibility and company policies. Full details will be provided during the hiring process.
