As a Software Engineer IV, you will lead the development of large-scale, mission-critical systems and guide engineering teams toward technical excellence. You bring deep expertise in system architecture, driving scalable design patterns that allow for autonomous development and future growth. In this role, you will orchestrate multi-agent AI workflows, establish security and testing guardrails, provide technical consultancy to product management, and mentor engineers specifically to build team redundancy and delivery speed.

About The Role:
As a Software Engineer IV, you will lead the development of large-scale, mission-critical systems and guide engineering teams toward technical excellence. In this role, you will orchestrate multi-agent AI workflows, establish security and testing guardrails, provide technical consultancy to product management, and mentor engineers specifically to build team redundancy and delivery speed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and implementation of large, complex features across React, Django, Python, and microservices/distributed components.
- Architect systems using established design patterns to support autonomous development, anticipating future use cases to minimize change costs.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technological issues across quality, performance, monitoring, and security while researching new performance solutions.
- Run multiple AI agents in parallel for design exploration, implementation, testing, and migration playbooks, structuring tasks to avoid context degradation.
- Coach the engineering team on sustainable AI usage, review rigor, and human-in-the-loop gates to prevent technical debt.
- May have direct reports
- Provide technical leadership and domain consultancy to Product Managers, helping shape strategic planning and project roadmaps.
- Guide teams toward shared business goals with clear vision, empowered task delegation, and strong accountability for high-quality outcomes.
- Proactively anticipate and communicate technical blockers, costs, and delays before escalation; mentor engineers to build team redundancy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production software at scale.
- 5+ years of expert-level experience in Django, Python, and relational database architecture (PostgreSQL).
- Deep mastery of system design principles, distributed architectures, microservices, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience orchestrating parallel AI agents and automated workflows across complex codebases.
- Track record of introducing scalable team processes, continuous delivery improvements, and developer tooling standards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and strategic planning capabilities.
