The role

As a Future Integrated Operational Support Solution Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how the next generation of defence platforms are supported throughout their operational life. This is a rare opportunity to influence future land defence capabilities before they enter service, designing innovative support, maintenance and operating models that ensure critical military assets remain effective, sustainable and mission ready.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

  • Designing future-state operating models covering organisational structures, governance, processes, responsibilities and commercial frameworks.
  • Developing integrated support solutions that align future defence capabilities with wider organisational and customer strategies.
  • Defining integration approaches that connect support models with operational readiness and support services.
  • Conducting capability assessments and gap analysis to support future defence solution development.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape supportability requirements for emerging defence programmes

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Andover with hybrid working patterns.

  • Experience designing support, maintenance or operating models for new or developing platforms and capabilities.
  • Broad understanding of engineering, logistics, fleet management, supportability and operational delivery.
  • Experience supporting defence acquisition, through-life engineering or the introduction of new capabilities.
  • Ability to develop integrated solutions and provide strategic direction across multiple technical and operational disciplines.

Qualifications for the Future Integrated Operational Support Solution Lead

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, systems engineering, logistics, supportability or a related discipline.
