About the Role

BeztForex is looking for an experienced and technically inclined FX Payments Specialist to join our team.

This is a hands-on operational role focused on FX transactions, cross-border payments, transaction management and client service.

You will take ownership of client transactions from instruction through to successful settlement, working closely with clients, banking partners and internal stakeholders to ensure transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and within the required turnaround times.

The ideal candidate will have experience in FX operations, international payments, transactional banking or a similar financial-services environment, and will be comfortable working across multiple systems and banking platforms.

This is not primarily a sales or trading role. The focus is on operational execution, payment processing, transaction management, client service and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

FX & Payments Operations

• Execute and process FX trades and cross-border payments.
• Manage transactions from client instruction through to settlement.
• Monitor transactions and proactively follow up on outstanding items, delays and exceptions.
• Investigate and resolve payment queries, discrepancies and operational issues.
• Ensure all required client information and supporting documentation is obtained and accurately captured.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy when processing financial transactions.
• Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

Client Management & Service

• Manage a portfolio of individual and corporate clients in relation to their FX and payment requirements.
• Build strong, professional client relationships.
• Provide clear and timely communication regarding transaction status and outstanding requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and training clients following the opening of their FX accounts.
• Take ownership of client queries and ensure they are resolved efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to improve the client experience and transaction turnaround times.

Banking & Stakeholder Relationships

• Liaise directly with banking partners regarding transactions, payments and account-related queries.
• Proactively manage exceptions and work with banking partners to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end client and payment experience.
  

What we are looking for

Essential:

• 2-4 years' experience in financial services, banking, foreign exchange or international payments.
• Practical experience with FX transactions and/or cross-border payments.
• Experience dealing directly with clients and banking partners.
• Strong operational and client-service experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Technically inclined and comfortable working across multiple systems and platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Advantageous:

• Experience in FX Operations within a South African commercial or investment bank.
• Experience working with multiple banking partners.
• Knowledge of the South African FX and cross-border payments environment.
• Knowledge of SARB/exchange control requirements.
• Experience with FX trading, banking or payment platforms.
• Experience within a fintech, forex or specialised financial-services environment.
• A relevant qualification in finance, commerce, economics or a related field.
