Game Level Designer – Live Operations / Hybrid Casual

We’re looking for a Game & Level Designer to join our Live Operations team and help evolve, expand, and optimize hybrid-casual games played by established player communities. This role combines game design, level design, LiveOps, and data-driven optimization. You’ll create new features, systems, events, and levels while continuously improving progression, difficulty, economy, monetization, and the overall player experience. As a Game & Level Designer – Live Operations, you will: Design and implement new game systems, features, mechanics, levels, and content for existing hybrid-casual games. Create, maintain, and optimize engaging levels, missions, challenges, and gameplay experiences for live players. Define and continuously improve level progression, sequencing, pacing, difficulty curves, and player journeys. Analyze level performance, including completion rates, fail rates, retries, churn points, and progression behavior, and translate insights into design improvements. Design and improve LiveOps events, challenges, competitions, missions, rewards, and other engagement-driven experiences. Balance new and existing levels based on player behavior, data, playtests, and community feedback. Design and optimize progression systems, rewards, game economy, monetization, and other F2P systems. Identify opportunities to introduce new mechanics, level elements, obstacles, boosters, and gameplay variations that keep the experience fresh. Analyze game KPIs, player behavior, funnels, A/B tests, and economy data to identify opportunities for improvement. Work closely with Product Owners and Data Analysts to define hypotheses, prioritize opportunities, evaluate performance, and improve key game KPIs. Collaborate with developers, artists, and other disciplines to bring new features, levels, and LiveOps content to life. Create and maintain clear design documentation, including feature specifications, level layouts, progression plans, flows, balancing sheets, and economy models. Research competitors, market trends, successful LiveOps strategies, and emerging game and level-design techniques. Use AI tools to support level creation, ideation, balancing, economy modeling, testing, research, and data analysis. Contribute creative ideas and design leadership within an agile, multidisciplinary team. Requirements The Game & Level Designer – Live Operations role requires: Proven game and level-design experience in a mobile F2P studio or gaming company, ideally within casual, hybrid-casual, or puzzle games. Strong hands-on level-design experience, including level creation, balancing, pacing, difficulty tuning, and progression. Experience designing or improving game systems, mechanics, features, and content for live games. Strong understanding of game and level-design principles, including player motivation, progression, difficulty curves, balancing, pacing, and reward structures. Strong F2P mindset with an understanding of LiveOps, game economy, monetization, and player engagement. Experience using KPIs, analytics, spreadsheets, playtests, and player data to make design and balancing decisions. Ability to identify problems in the player journey and translate data and player behavior into concrete design improvements. Experience working with level editors, game engines, spreadsheets, or other content-creation and balancing tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with creativity and player empathy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Broad knowledge of casual and hybrid-casual mobile games and current market trends. Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI tools and emerging technologies as part of the design process. Advantage 3+ years of experience specifically working on hybrid-casual, casual, or puzzle games. Experience designing and maintaining a large volume of levels for a successful live mobile game. Experience optimizing difficulty curves and level progression using player data. Experience designing LiveOps events and event content. Strong experience with F2P economy and monetization design. Experience working on games with large, established player communities. Proficiency in Unity 3D or custom level editors.
