Job Title: GCP Database Site Reliability/Support Engineer (SCE)

100% Remote

Visa :- USC or GC only

Start Date: ASAP

Time Zone: East preferred, but Central is fine

Skill set Requirement: Strong Spanner skills

Location requirements: US only

Role Overview:

We're looking for a GCP Database Support/Site Reliability Engineer to manage, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud-native database systems, with hands-on expertise in Cloud Spanner as a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage GCP database services (Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore)

• Monitor performance, availability, and reliability of production database systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, ensuring SLA/SLO compliance

• Optimize Cloud Spanner schemas, queries, and instance configurations for scale and cost

• Implement backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies

• Collaborate with engineering teams on database architecture and migrations

• Automate operational tasks using Terraform/scripting (Python/Bash)

Mandatory Requirements:

• Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Spanner (schema design, performance tuning, monitoring)

• Strong SQL and distributed database concepts (consistency, sharding, replication)

• Experience with GCP IAM, networking, and monitoring (Cloud Monitoring/Logging)

• Familiarity with incident management and on-call rotations

Good to Have:

• GCP Professional Cloud Database Engineer certification

• Experience with Cloud SQL, BigQuery, or AlloyDB

• Terraform/Infrastructure-as-Code experience
