General Accounting Associate

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: 1pm to 10pm (Philippines) Job Summary: The General Accounting Associate will partner with the Accounting Supervisor to provide accounting and financial support to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiency of procedures and processes within the Accounting department, which assist in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and accounting. Essential Functions: Primary support for Accounting Supervisor and staff in month-end closes and account analysis. Responsible for preparation of detail account analysis, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, account roll-forwards, budget vs. actual analysis, system balancing, and all other tasks required to close month-end on a timely basis and maintain G/L account integrity. Communicate unusual or prior period activity that materially impacts the financials to supervisor timely. journal entries and account reconciliations, while ensuring the integrity of the data and that all policies and internal controls are being administered. Primary support for Accounting Supervisor in financial statement audits, including preparation of detail audit schedules (monthly and at year-end) and analysis in accordance with the established time frames determined by Supervisor. Actively collaborate with stateside entity and market teams regarding monthly accruals and upcoming transactions Demonstrates proficiency and acts as a departmental Super User in use of core financial systems. Must be able to demonstrate and communicate active knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in daily execution of accounting functions and tasks. Take leadership role in exploring process improvements, implementing policy/process changes and standardizations. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or comparable discipline (required) Required Licensing & Certifications: CPA, or Chartered Accountant (preferred) Experience: 2 years of experience in a general accounting function (required) 4 years of experience in a general accounting function (preferred) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and online applications Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred) Working knowledge of Workday Financial Management software (preferred) Working knowledge of Blackline software, specifically modules for journal entries and reconciliations (preferred) Proficient in the use of EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) application (preferred) Skills & Abilities: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision meeting strict timelines Ability to engage and communicate with operating managers where appropriate in gathering, reporting and explaining substance of business transactions as it relates to the analysis within their work plan. Ability to work independently and assist and/or oversee special projects as needed. Provide back-up to Staff Accountants and Accounting Supervisor as needed. Ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients, as well as the confidentiality of hospital and departmental documents.
