ADB is seeking a General Accountant to join our operational finance team, serving in a blended role that combines core general ledger and month-end close responsibilities with hands-on project-level financial reporting for assigned operational groups. This position is designed to build broad accounting exposure and is intended to develop into a future Operations Controller or Accounting/Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to move fluidly between corporate close activities and field-facing project accounting, and an ALL IN attitude to achieve results. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Prepare monthly WIP schedules, Job Cost Reports, and project budgets for assigned operational groups, and assist with operational leadership reviews Provide timely reporting of actual and projected project financials across varying contract types, sizes, and scope, reviewing results with both financial and operational leadership Assist with the project set-up process to ensure new projects are established in accordance with established accounting standards and internal processes Read, review, and understand construction contract language to identify potential change orders and support accurate revenue recognition Research and resolve account discrepancies, and proactively recommend process improvements Oversee inventory levels relative to monthly construction production in support of WIP reporting accuracy Assist with the Company’s annual audit by preparing balance sheet and income statement schedules Build and maintain a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP sufficient to support both general ledger reporting and project-level revenue recognition decisions Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools used across both corporate and operational finance Performs other duties as requested by leadership SUCCESS FACTORS: A strong belief in ZERO- Being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation Alignment with company mission, vision, and values A high level of customer centricity Strong work ethic with an ALL-IN attitude Strong team player with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different levels of staff and operational leadership Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple entities and projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial results to varying audiences A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to accomplish both departmental and personal development goals Proficient in Microsoft Suite (advanced Excel skills required) Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP accounting / reporting tools High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with strong relationship-building skills across finance and operations WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office location Pacific, MO or Charlotte, NC While this position is remote, candidates located within the Pacific, MO area will work a hybrid schedule of part-time in office and part-time work from home This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, copy/scan, and This position requires a willingness to travel approximately 2-4 days per month EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 3-5+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally spanning both general ledger/close work and project or construction accounting In depth understanding of U.S. GAAP and construction/project accounting(Percentage of Completion) required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required CPA and/or MBA preferred Construction and/or project accounting experience strongly preferred ADB Companies, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
