GEO & AEO Specialist – AI Search Optimization

ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring a hands-on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Specialist to make F5 more visible and more frequently cited across AI search and answer engines.

More buyers are asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI how to hire remote talent. Your job is to make sure F5 increasingly appears in those answers.

You’ll own both off-site AI visibility and on-site retrieval optimization, including citations, third-party mentions, AI-friendly content structure, technical crawler access, prompt tracking, and measurement.

This is not a strategy-only role. You will personally execute the work, measure what changed, and determine what actually caused movement.

You’ll work directly on F5’s own visibility and report directly to the CEO. Working hours must overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.

IMPORTANT: GEO here means Generative Engine Optimization — not geographic or local SEO. We are looking for someone who has already done hands-on AI visibility work and can show measurable before-and-after results.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Improve F5 visibility and citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and other AI assistants

• Secure relevant third-party mentions across publications, directories, review platforms, communities, and other sources AI systems retrieve from

• Improve visibility within Google AI Overviews and AI Mode

• Establish and track our Google AI visibility baseline

• Restructure website content into clear, retrievable answer passages

• Improve headings, entities, internal linking, structured data, and page-level content where appropriate

• Audit AI crawler access, robots.txt, WAF settings, indexability, and snippet controls

• Determine which prompts and commercial questions we should actually be tracking

• Build measurement that shows what was asked, which platform answered, who was cited, where F5 appeared, and how results changed

• Run controlled experiments rather than assuming correlation equals causation

• Report weekly on what moved, why you believe it moved, and what you need to test next

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Demonstrated hands-on GEO / AI search visibility experience

• Measurable before-and-after results on at least one major AI search or answer platform

• Experience personally securing third-party mentions, citations, placements, or community visibility

• Ability to explain exactly what you changed — not just what you recommended

• Strong page-level optimization judgment, including the ability to identify specific content changes and explain why they matter

• Understanding of how retrieval differs across AI assistants, Google’s generative search surfaces, and traditional SEO

• Experience measuring AI visibility rather than relying only on conventional rankings

• Strong experimentation and analytical discipline

• Ability to distinguish causation from correlation and design tests when the answer is unclear

• Good judgment around platform risk, brand risk, and reversibility of tactics

• Strong written English

• Availability to overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with commercial AI visibility tracking platforms

• Experience building your own AI visibility tracking or measurement tools

• Server-side analysis of AI crawler traffic

• Ability to write small scripts for data collection, analysis, or visualization

• Experience running controlled SEO or AI-search experiments using holdouts or staggered rollouts
