Salary: €46,800 – €62,400 gross p.a. + 13th Monthly Salary + Optional Company Car (Private Use)

Employment Type: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, highly organized Field Service Inspector for Sports Surface Systems (m/f/d) to join an independent, accredited testing institute based in Münster. With a legacy of over 25 years ensuring safety and quality in sports infrastructure, this organization actively shapes national and international standards (DIN, EN, FIFA).

In this dynamic hybrid role, you will split your time between autonomous nationwide field assignments inspecting athletic surfaces, managing your own schedules, and coordinating reporting and team alignment from the Münster office or your home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Inspections & Testing: Plan, organize, and execute independent compliance and control inspections for sports floors, indoor athletic halls, artificial turf pitches, and playgrounds.
  • Technical Measurements: Operate, transport, set up, and troubleshoot specialized physical measurement equipment (requiring lifting and carrying gear up to ~20 kg across sites).
  • Standards Compliance: Perform testing strictly according to established technical regulations, standards, and guidelines (DIN, EN, FIFA).
  • Report Generation & Administration: Meticulously analyze testing data and compile comprehensive technical inspection reports (typically scheduled on Fridays).
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain a professional and independent posture when communicating findings to diverse contacts, including facility managers (Hausmeister), school directors, architects, and municipal representatives.
  • Tour Management & Coordination: Self-manage travel itineraries, hotel bookings, and expenses using a company credit card, and participate in weekly Monday team alignments.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • Education: Completed vocational training as a Chemical or Physical Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant / Physiklaborant) or a comparable background in natural sciences or materials testing.
  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken).
  • Driver's Licence & Mobility: Valid Class B driving licence and strong readiness for regular weekly travel (~3 days/week across Germany, with occasional international trips to neighboring countries like Poland or Luxembourg 1–2 times per year).
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to transport heavy testing equipment (~20 kg) and navigate staircases in sports facilities.
  • Technical Acumen & Tools: Solid understanding of physical measurement principles and daily working proficiency in MS Office.
  • Soft Skills: High self-organization, structured tour planning, reliability, accountability, and confident gravitas when interacting with clients and stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior professional experience in field service, materials testing, or sports flooring certification.
  • Familiarity with ERP or field service software (e.g., Haufe X360).
  • Working knowledge of sports surface testing regulations (DIN, EN, FIFA standards).

Working Environment & Structure

  • Hybrid Schedule: Typically 3 days of nationwide field inspections combined with 2 days of office or home office work (typically anchoring Mondays for team syncs and Fridays for report drafting).
  • Team Culture: Work within a small, tight-knit, collaborative team with flat hierarchies, transparent communication, and team milestones (such as celebratory grill events).
  • Professional Growth: Structured onboarding program featuring internal audits and progressive qualification stages to build expertise in advanced measurement technology.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Remuneration: Base salary ranging from €46,800 to €62,400 gross per annum, supplemented by a 13th monthly salary.
  • Mobility Perks: Optional company car available for private use.
  • Time Off & Flexibility: 25 standard vacation days plus 5 extra days, plus your birthday off; flexible working structures.
  • Impact & Purpose: Meaningful work at an independent institute that directly safeguards athletes and public sports infrastructure across the country.
