Role Summary

Become an integral team member at an established digital health and software consulting vendor that has been spearheading healthcare modernization since 1991. The business engineers intelligent practice software, modern digital infrastructure, and clinical training solutions that allow therapists, practices, and medical facilities to streamline administrative workflows and prioritize top-tier patient care.

We are seeking a Full-Stack Developer (m/f/d) to join an agile, self-organizing engineering group. While the position spans both layers of the stack, core technical depth in Java backend ecosystems forms the backbone of this role.

If you are looking to engineer high-value applications, shape architectural standards, and thrive in an adaptable, remote-first environment centered around meaningful work, this opportunity is built for you.

Core Duties

  • Backend Engineering: Design, build, and maintain robust microservices and API layers leveraging modern Java ecosystems (Jakarta EE / Quarkus) within a collaborative Scrum setup.
  • Frontend Delivery: Construct fluid, user-friendly UI features and modern end-to-end capabilities utilizing TypeScript and Angular.
  • Technical Guidance & Architecture: Contribute actively to stack decisions, software architecture design, and enterprise-grade system security.
  • Code Standards & Quality: Maintain exceptional code hygiene adhering to Clean Code guidelines, engaging in regular peer code reviews, automated test suite engineering, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work alongside 5–10 engineering colleagues, Product Owners, and cross-functional teammates in an open, equal-footing culture.

Required Capabilities

Essential Requirements:

  • Professional Track Record: 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience with a clear focus on Java backend systems.
  • Backend Frameworks: Comprehensive experience working with modern Java tooling (Jakarta EE, Quarkus, or equivalent Enterprise Java stacks like Spring Boot).
  • Frontend Technologies: Practical, hands-on competence with TypeScript and Angular.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals: Solid mastery of Clean Code patterns, system architecture principles, application security, and Git/GitHub version control.
  • Location & Language: C2-level German fluency (spoken and written) along with current residency in Germany.
  • Travel Willingness: Openness to visit the Kiel office 1 to 4 times per year for team workshops and social events (all travel expenses fully reimbursed).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Prior experience in Healthcare IT, MedTech, SaaS, or clinic/practice management systems.
  • Experience architecting resilient and scalable microservice environments.
  • Exposure to cloud-native platforms, modern CI/CD automation, or DevOps workflows.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility & Remote Infrastructure: 100% remote working model across Germany paired with flexible working hours (Gleitzeit) and full coverage of travel expenses for team gatherings.
  • Vacation & Impact Leave: 30 paid vacation days annually, plus 1 additional week dedicated entirely to charitable or social impact initiatives.
