As an established technology partner in the digital retail ecosystem, we empower businesses—ranging from fast-growing startups to established mid-market enterprises—to capture digital opportunities rapidly and sustainably. Our operational philosophy centers on transparent, peer-to-peer relationships, straightforward communication, and delivering reliable outcomes on time and within budget. We cultivate an authentic, human-centric culture where continuous learning and open exchange are genuinely valued. Operating as a dedicated unit within a larger international corporate structure, our software solutions and Shopify app ecosystem currently serve a profitable customer base of approximately 13,500 paying merchants globally. The Role In this high-impact position as Performance Marketing Lead , you will take total ownership of building, scaling, and managing the entire acquisition system for our Shopify app portfolio from day one. Working directly alongside our Business Unit Lead, you will transition our paid marketing efforts into a highly structured, data-driven revenue engine. Your core focus will involve directing qualified B2B traffic to our marketplace listings, converting high-intent leads into app installations, and establishing repeatable marketing playbooks. This role is structured with a clear career progression path: as you scale our acquisition channels and build documented processes, you will systematically transition into a Senior Lead capacity and recruit, mentor, and lead your own dedicated marketing team over a 12-to-24-month horizon. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Paid Channel Execution: Strategize, launch, and continuously optimize paid marketing campaigns across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Shopify Ads, and sponsored content channels. Demand Generation & Funnel Optimization: Drive B2B lead generation, nurture MQLs, and boost conversion rates by directing high-intent merchant traffic straight onto our Shopify App Store listings. Process Engineering & Systems Documentation: Design, formalize, and document scalable marketing workflows, clear operational frameworks, and standardized reporting structures that can be seamlessly transferred as the team grows. Scientific Experimentation: Apply a rigorous, hypothesis-led methodology to every initiative (Hypothesis $\rightarrow$ Test $\rightarrow$ Measurement $\rightarrow$ Data-driven Iteration). Analytics & Attribution Infrastructure: Implement, audit, and maintain reliable multi-touch tracking systems across GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and connected data sources. Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Product and Customer Success departments to support feature launches, release communications, cross-selling campaigns, and merchant retention initiatives. Team Building & Leadership Progression: Lay the operational foundation to hire, onboard, and lead a high-performing internal marketing unit within the next 1 to 2 years. What Makes You a Fit Proven Experience: At least 5 years (ideally 4–7 years) of dedicated performance marketing experience in B2B environments, holding measurable accountability for lead generation (MQLs) across multiple paid acquisition channels. Hands-on Channel Mastery: Deep, direct operational expertise in managing and scaling Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads . MarTech & Automation Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience using CRM and marketing automation engines (such as HubSpot) along with tracking and visualization toolsets (GA4, GTM, Looker Studio). Quantitative Mindset: A deeply analytical approach to growth—you think and communicate naturally through core performance metrics (CPL, CAC, Conversion Rates, ROAS) and value structured systems over isolated tasks. Language Requirements: Fluency in German at a C2 level (native or full professional proficiency) combined with fluent English skills. Remote Independence: Proven self-management, initiative, and personal accountability in a fully distributed remote work setting. Nice-to-Haves: Prior exposure to the Shopify merchant/app marketplace ecosystem, hands-on experience in Shopify App Store advertising, SaaS background within the DACH region, or initial team leadership experience. What We Offer High Operational Autonomy: Full creative and strategic freedom to construct our performance marketing engine entirely from the ground up with a direct line to senior management. Structured Career Advancement: A clear, defined trajectory toward Senior Marketing Lead with concrete plans to build out your own marketing department. Flexible Work Model: 100% remote flexibility across Germany or any EU location, trust-based working hours, and 28 days of paid annual vacation. In-Person Team Offsites: Two fully funded company retreats per year (2–3 days each) designed for strategic alignment, collaboration, and real-world team bonding. Comprehensive Benefits: Mobility benefits (JobRad leasing and JobTicket), company pension scheme (BAV), capital-forming benefits (VWL), Urban Sports Club membership, and access to a dedicated mental health support platform. *EU Remote Compensation Policy: The target compensation package stated above (€80,000 OTE) reflects the market standard for candidates based in Germany. For candidates residing in other EU countries outside of Germany, compensation will be adjusted to local market rates through an Employer of Record (EOR) provider.
