Location: Berlin, Germany (100% Remote option anywhere in Germany)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Department: Sustainability Consulting & Operations
Salary Range: €50,000 – €70,000 gross p.a. (commensurate with experience)
About the Role
Are you eager to deploy cutting-edge software to tackle environmental challenges? We are an agile, Berlin-headquartered Climate Tech startup assisting enterprise sustainability units with automated workflow engines, CSRD regulatory compliance, and targeted net-zero roadmaps by pairing an intelligent AI co-pilot with tailored expert advisory.
We are looking for a driven, operational Sustainability Consultant (m/f/d) to join our expanding advisory team. In this position, you will guide corporate partners through their carbon accounting journeys, audit algorithmic calculations, and refine our internal advisory frameworks to scale our environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Account Leadership: Direct full-lifecycle advisory for enterprise partners across Corporate Carbon Footprints (CCF), Product Carbon Footprints (PCF), and decarbonization paths via our proprietary software engine.
- Data Verification & Processing: Analyze client operational and ESG datasets to build accurate CCF/PCF models while auditing AI-generated emission factor mapping for absolute precision.
- Workflow Engineering & Automation: Periodically evaluate, refine, and restructure our CCF consulting methodologies alongside team members to improve operational scalability.
- Client Enablement & Support: Serve as the primary operational contact, while developing scalable self-service resources, client knowledge bases, and clear support channels.
- Executive Stakeholder Communication: Design and present clear, engaging case studies and technical insights during high-level client workshops and executive reviews.
- Product Team Collaboration: Channel real-world client requirements and software feedback directly to our product engineering team to guide platform updates.
Requirements
Core Qualifications
- Language Capabilities: Native or C2-level native-equivalent German skills are required for primary client advisory, paired with strong C1/C2 professional English.
- Professional Background: 2+ years of direct experience within ESG consulting or corporate sustainability teams, with specific emphasis on CCF, PCF, or Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
- Hands-on Execution: Demonstrated track record of personally building and verifying carbon accounting models (rather than purely supervising or academic study).
- Agile Mindset: A proactive, self-directed working style comfortable with managing day-to-day deliverables while designing long-term scalable processes.
- Organizational Expertise: Excellent project management capabilities and a structured, persuasive communication style.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior advisory work with mid-sized enterprises or large corporate entities.
- Background in Climate Tech, Clean-Tech SaaS environments, or sustainability projects in retail/FMCG sectors.
- Experience building customer education hubs (knowledge bases, help sites) or implementing workflow automation tools.
What We Offer
- Meaningful Mission: Enable corporate entities to achieve measurable carbon footprint reductions and sustainability benchmarks.
- Pioneering Tech Environment: Work at the intersection of enterprise AI and carbon accounting within a growing climate startup.
- Autonomy & Influence: High degree of freedom to refine internal workflows, build new processes, and shape client delivery systems.
- Career Development: Clear advancement opportunities with pathways toward team leadership as our organization expands.
- Workplace Freedom: 100% remote flexibility across Germany, trust-based working hours, 28 paid vacation days, and an autonomous work culture.
- Financial Package: Competitive base salary (€50,000 – €70,000 gross p.a.) along with flexible arrangements and comprehensive benefits.
