Global Employee Development Manager


Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Working arrangement: 4 days per week in the office

Employment: Full-time, 32–40 hours per week


We are partnering with a global organization to recruit a Global Employee Development Manager to join its Global Learning & Development team in Amsterdam.


You will shape the global learning ecosystem, translate business priorities into impactful development solutions and drive implementation across diverse employee populations and markets.


The role is particularly suited to an experienced L&D professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and is comfortable leading transformation in a global environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the global learning ecosystem, including learning technology and skills/competency frameworks.
  • Identify learning needs and translate business priorities into scalable development programmes.
  • Design and implement onboarding, capability-building and employee development solutions.
  • Drive learning adoption and impact through talent, performance and leadership processes.
  • Manage learning partners, vendors, budgets and global stakeholder relationships.
  • Use data and feedback to measure effectiveness and continuously improve learning solutions.
  • Lead global L&D projects and change initiatives from strategy through to implementation.
  • Support learning governance, compliance and reporting across the organization.


About You

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development or Organizational Development within a global environment.
  • Relevant degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in learning needs analysis, instructional design, learning technologies and competency frameworks.
  • Proven project and change management experience with strong stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfortable combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution and owning implementation.
  • Good understanding of digital and AI-enabled learning.
  • Experience working across different countries and cultures.
  • Data-driven, resilient and pragmatic, with a collaborative and adaptable mindset.
  • Freelance or consulting backgrounds are welcome where candidates have owned implementation and delivery.


Location & Practicalities

This position is based in Amsterdam, with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office. Some flexibility to work from Utrecht may be possible for candidates based nearby.

The role is open to candidates seeking 32–40 hours per week, with limited or no regular travel expected.
