Global Head of Network Engineering

Job Description

Shape the future of network infrastructure at one of Europe's largest financial institutions. As Global Head of Network Engineering, you will lead an effective team that designs and operates the critical backbone connecting millions of customers across our global footprint. This role offers the opportunity to build technology that powers financial services at scale.

What You Will Be Doing

You will lead our global network engineering function, working closely with technology leadership, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable infrastructure. Your team will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, and operations that keep our customers connected worldwide.

• Define network strategy and architecture roadmap for global operations
• Build and develop effective engineering teams across multiple regions
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle management of complex infrastructure platforms
• Lead major incident response and systematic improvement programmes
• Manage vendor relationships and optimise infrastructure costs
• Champion SRE principles and automation to increase operational efficiency
  
  

About You

• Bring 10+ years of experience across Network, Infrastructure or Cloud engineering
• Significant leadership experience building global, multicultural engineering teams
• Strong understanding of networking and modern infrastructure architecture
• Experience applying SRE and software engineering principles to infrastructure
• Experience in operational and resilience leadership
• Ability to define strategy and turn it into measurable execution
• Strong commercial and stakeholder management experience
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Practical knowledge of service management and product thinking approaches
  
  

Experience with GenAI applications in infrastructure automation would be valuable, as would previous experience in financial services or highly regulated environments.

What We Offer You

Monthly salary range from 6880 EUR to 10320 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
