About the Role

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who can own both the talent acquisition lifecycle and broader HR business partnering responsibilities across a global organization operating in APAC. This is a dual-focus role — you'll be the go-to person for hiring at every level while also building out the people infrastructure that doesn't fully exist yet.

If you thrive at the intersection of strategic HR and hands-on recruiting, and you enjoy the challenge of setting up structured processes in an environment that's been running more informally, this role gives you real ownership over how we build and grow our team worldwide.

What You'll Do

HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations — handling conflict resolution, grievance management, and workplace investigations with discretion and judgment

  • Own the offboarding process end-to-end: exit interviews, structured knowledge transfer, and alumni relations — areas that need building

  • Drive retention strategy through stay interviews, 1-on-1 cadences, and engagement scoring; use exit interview data to inform action plans

  • Partner with leadership on headcount planning, role clarity, and org restructuring

  • Lead workforce planning exercises tied to business strategy — not just reactive hiring

  • Provide structured data and analytics to support people decisions, moving away from gut-feel HR toward evidence-based practices

HR Operations & Payroll

  • Manage payroll coordination for global offices and contractors, ensuring accurate and timely processing across all regions

  • Serve as the liaison with external payroll providers and local compliance partners — verifying accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining records

  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation is complete and up to date

  • Ensure compliance with labor law across all operating regions — Singapore, Thailand, India, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines — each with significantly different regulatory requirements

  • Maintain up-to-date policies and local employment practices that account for regional differences

  • Define and document pay bands across regions

Talent Acquisition

  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process: job scoping, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding coordination

  • Partner with hiring managers to build hiring plans, write job descriptions, and maintain a pipeline of quality candidates

  • Source through multiple channels — LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, community events, and direct outreach

  • Design and run interview processes that are efficient, consistent, and candidate-friendly

  • Track and report on recruitment KPIs (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source quality)

  • Contribute to employer branding efforts (job postings, social content, interview experience design, recruitment event participation)

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of combined experience in talent acquisition and HR business partnering, ideally across multiple countries

  • Proven track record of building HR programs from scratch or early stages — performance management, comp structures, feedback cycles, L&D — not just maintaining existing ones

  • Experience recruiting across multiple regions and handling full-cycle hiring for technical and senior roles

  • Working knowledge of employment law in APAC jurisdictions — Singapore, Southeast Asia, China, Korea, Taiwan — or a demonstrated ability to navigate unfamiliar labor environments quickly

  • Hands-on operator mindset — comfortable sourcing candidates, running background checks, updating HRIS, writing policies, and managing payroll operations

  • Experience with ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, etc.) and HRIS (BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto, etc.)

  • Strong judgment on employee relations and confidentiality

  • Comfortable being the first or second people person — this role will define processes that don't fully exist yet

  • Excellent communication skills — you can build trust with people at every level and deliver difficult conversations with empathy
