The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Government Relations Manager to lead government engagement, regulatory liaison, stakeholder management, government-related compliance coordination, permits and approvals, and strategic institutional relationships.
The ideal candidate will build trusted relationships with relevant authorities, monitor regulatory developments, coordinate government requirements, support licensing and approvals, represent organizational interests professionally, and ensure government-related activities are managed proactively and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement government-relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives and operating requirements.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with ministries, government departments, regulators, municipalities, public authorities, and other relevant institutions.
- Identify key government stakeholders and develop appropriate engagement plans.
- Establish clear stakeholder maps covering relevant authorities, decision-makers, regulators, and institutional partners.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for government-related matters within assigned areas.
- Coordinate communications, meetings, submissions, correspondence, and official engagements with government authorities.
- Represent the organization professionally in meetings, consultations, workshops, forums, and government events.
- Monitor government policies, regulations, legislation, administrative requirements, and public-sector initiatives that may affect the organization.
- Assess potential business and operational implications of regulatory and policy developments.
- Provide management with timely updates on relevant government developments, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
- Coordinate regulatory registrations, licenses, permits, approvals, certificates, and government documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of government licenses, permits, renewals, submissions, approvals, and regulatory correspondence.
- Track government-related deadlines, renewal dates, application requirements, and outstanding actions.
- Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure government submissions and regulatory interactions are accurate and appropriate.
- Support applications for business licenses, operating permits, approvals, registrations, visas, work permits, and other government requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and relevant authorities on employee-related government processes.
- Support immigration, labor, employment, residency, and work-permit requirements where applicable.
- Liaise with municipalities and other authorities regarding operational, commercial, property, environmental, construction, transportation, or other business requirements as relevant.
- Support government inspections, regulatory visits, official inquiries, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate organizational responses to government requests, notices, information requirements, and official communications.
- Ensure government requests are assigned to appropriate internal owners and followed through to completion.
- Develop briefing materials for executives participating in government meetings and official engagements.
- Prepare background information, stakeholder profiles, talking points, briefing notes, and meeting summaries.
- Maintain detailed records of government interactions, commitments, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Monitor commitments made during government meetings and ensure appropriate internal follow-up.
- Identify potential regulatory barriers affecting business operations and coordinate solutions with relevant internal teams.
- Support regulatory approvals required for new projects, expansions, facilities, products, services, or market-entry initiatives.
- Work with Project, Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Legal teams to coordinate government requirements throughout project lifecycles.
- Support government engagement for major strategic projects, investments, developments, and organizational initiatives.
- Develop proactive engagement plans for matters that may require government coordination or approval.
- Maintain awareness of government priorities, economic-development programs, investment initiatives, and relevant public-sector strategies.
- Identify opportunities to participate in government programs, industry initiatives, public-private partnerships, and institutional collaborations.
- Coordinate participation in government forums, business councils, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and relevant public-sector events.
- Build constructive relationships with industry associations and business organizations that engage with government stakeholders.
- Support corporate affairs and communications teams on government-facing communications and public-sector messaging.
- Coordinate with Public Affairs and Communications teams on issues that may attract government or regulatory attention.
- Support the management of sensitive government-related issues and escalations.
- Develop issue-response plans and stakeholder engagement strategies for significant regulatory or institutional matters.
- Coordinate with external government-relations consultants, legal advisers, public-affairs specialists, and other professional service providers where required.
- Manage external partner deliverables, timelines, budgets, confidentiality requirements, and performance expectations.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional standards when handling government and stakeholder information.
- Ensure government-relations activities comply with applicable laws, internal policies, ethical standards, and anti-bribery requirements.
- Maintain accurate government stakeholder databases, contact records, engagement histories, regulatory trackers, and documentation.
- Establish reporting mechanisms covering government activities, regulatory matters, permits, approvals, risks, and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare regular management reports on government-relations activities, regulatory developments, outstanding actions, and strategic opportunities.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, government liaison, corporate affairs, stakeholder management, or institutional relations, preferably within an international business, regulated industry, infrastructure, real estate, construction, energy, technology, logistics, professional services, or other complex operating environment.
The candidate should demonstrate:
