The role: The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in Acoustics or a general physics-based background and have studied an acoustics-related course. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, with the main focus on renewable energy developments along with industrial, commercial, construction and residential schemes. The ideal candidate will have an excellent technical focus, as well as report writing ability in order to contribute to the delivery of technical reports for planning stages of projects. The role is practical, hands-on, and varied, combining site work, modelling, analysis, and report writing. These skills are the foundation of a strong career as an acoustician, which you will develop with close support from experienced consultants. Responsibilities Include: Conducting on site surveys which will include detailed noise surveys along withvisual walk around surveys for proposed renewable energy sites. May also be required to conduct site surveys to support the hydrology and transport teams. Analysing data and contributing to clear, high-quality technical reports to be submitted for planning purposes. Conducting various technical assessments for projects such as renewable energy, industrial, commercial and residential. Assessment types include BS4142, BS5228 and BS8233 noise assessments. Providing support to Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants. Use of various industry and in-house software packages. Engaging with other in-house multi-disciplinary team members. Liaising with sister companies, clients and local authorities. Key Requirements: Hold a completed degree in preferably acoustics or one of the following, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related STEM subject. An ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and working to the highest standards. Full UK clean driving license. Must be flexible and willing to travel. Eligible to work in the UK. Own transport (required within 3 months of starting role). Why work for us?
