A Brief Overview
Responsible for accumulating and providing financial data for reporting, controlling, budgeting and invoicing on grant projects. Provides support to managers, researches, maintains program and funding information for grants, tracks expenses and reports for grant invoicing, and accumulates, enters and analyzes data on assigned projects. Works closely with all levels of management with only moderate supervision. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Responsible for daily and monthly statistical data assimilation, analysis and reporting for department staff. Compiles, maintains, and regularly audits multiple databases.
- Researches and maintains files on public and private funding sources and provides support in the preparation of new and renewing grants.
- Responsible for budget, month-end and analytical support activities. Assists in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management and used in measuring, planning, and controlling business operations.
- Implements and maintains the invoice process for Grant Administration, both for payment and reimbursement. Provides support for invoice processing including monitoring invoices presented and assuring consistency with contractual agreements.
- Assists with the creation of policies and procedures for the implementation of new and existing functions of Grant Administration.
- Serves as a liaison between the department and division Associates, hospital departments, customers, physicians, vendors and contracted professionals. Posts, maintains and controls information on all grant payments.
- Serves as a Superuser for Workday. Provides technical assistance to Associates for expense reports and other functions in Workday.
- Assists as the point of contact for Grant Administration functions, providing support and collaboration to problem solve with programmatic associates before escalating issues as needed.
- Builds relationships with community partners, program leaders, and outside leadership including funders and subrecipients.
- Provides recommendations and guidance to program leadership to ensure compliance and fidelity to grant requirements. Leads meetings to review databases with programmatic leadership and making necessary recommendations for program sustainability.
- Develops compliance and quality assurance methods to promote grant contract compliance and accountability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- Required - Bachelor's Degree
Experience Qualifications
- Required - Accounting and/or finance management 1-3 years
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and apply accounting principles.
- Knowledge of accounting and finance management methods and techniques.
- Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials such as contractor construction/ renovation quotes, capital requisitions, purchase orders, warranty documents, invoices etc.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of Associates and Management.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Knowledge of computerized general ledger and other accounting systems, and ability to use PC-based analytical tools.
- Advance ability in use of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Must demonstrate solid quantitative/problem solving abilities including mathematical, statistical, and computer skills.
- Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet programs, email, and calendar functions.
- Knowledge of general business operations, rules of grammar, spelling, and business correspondence.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintains control of workflow.

- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
