Grants Associate – International Non-Profit (Remote)
About our client
Our client is a growing international non-profit. It builds and supports a global community of people who use evidence and careful reasoning to work out where they can do the most good, and then act on it. Its work covers a range of major global challenges.
The organisation is in a strong growth phase. Headcount has risen sharply over the past year, programme participation is growing year on year, and it’s having its strongest fundraising year to date. It recently expanded its grantmaking function significantly and is hiring to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
About the Grants Team
The organisation makes grants to high-impact projects, individuals and organisations through several funding programmes, including funds supported by donors, event grants and community-building grants. The grants team runs the systems that move money from donors to projects. It focuses on efficient processing, compliance with grantmaking requirements, accurate records and a positive experience for grantees.
About the role
We’re hiring a Grants Associate to help expand the team’s capacity and strengthen the systems that move money from donors to high-impact projects. You’ll be a key point of contact for grant recipients and internal grant evaluators. You’ll administer the grants management system and keep funding rounds moving smoothly.
Day to day, you’ll keep grant processing efficient, support a clear end-to-end experience for grantees, and manage grant records so the data stays reliable and up to date. Over time, you’ll also help refine and scale the processes the team relies on.
You’ll work closely with the Grants Lead and play a central role in making sure processes are responsive, robust and easy to use. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented and organised, with a strong customer service mindset. Operations experience is helpful and grant administration experience is a plus. Entry-level candidates who can get up to speed quickly and work carefully through routine tasks are also welcome. If you succeed in the role, you’ll help move millions of dollars to high-impact work.
Key responsibilities
Process grants through a Salesforce-based grants management system
Communicate with grant recipients to solve issues and give them a smooth experience
Carry out due diligence on all grant recipients so grants comply with relevant law and internal policies
Review grantee reports against relevant law and internal policies
Keep accurate records for all grants
Run monitoring and reporting to track impact
What we’re looking for
You might be a great fit if you are:
Detail-oriented: you’ll work in a complex system with many moving parts, where errors can be costly
Highly organised: you’ll track many grants at once and need to balance fast turnaround with strict adherence to grantmaking policies
A clear and friendly communicator: you’ll deal with grant recipients often, so excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service attitude are essential
Committed: you’re keen to learn the systems inside out and want to commit for at least two years
Mission-driven: you care about the organisation’s mission and values
(Bonus) Experienced in grant administration or Salesforce: not required, but it will help you get up to speed faster
