About Afrik Project
Afrik Project is a pan-African organisation on a mission to construct the definitive global archive of African excellence. We exist to bridge the gap between perception and reality — discovering and amplifying the stories of Africa's most impactful changemakers through world-class journalism and striking visual storytelling. We're building toward a future where the African narrative is defined by the undeniable brilliance of its people. We are more than a media ecosystem — we are a talent development institution.
About the Afrik Fellowship
The Afrik Fellowship is a structured, 6-month (renewable) volunteering programme designed to give talented young Africans and Africa-focused professionals real, high-quality work experience — backed by mentorship, training, and an internationally recognised certificate. It runs with the rigor of a professional workplace: clear briefs, deadlines, review cycles, and agreed KPIs, so what you produce is genuinely portfolio-worthy.
The Role
As a Graphic Design & Video Editing Fellow, you'll produce visual and video content — from social graphics to edited features — following brand briefs and our style guide. Every project moves through a two-stage review (peer + manager) with mandatory written feedback, so your craft sharpens with every piece.
You'll be measured on transparent KPIs: on-time delivery, brand consistency, revision efficiency, variety of output, and peer/manager quality ratings.
Time Commitment
Minimum 5 hours/week, maximum ~10–12 hours/week. Fully remote.
This Is a Volunteer Role — Here's What You Actually Gain
This programme is UNPAID, and we take that seriously: we've built the Fellowship so the exchange is genuinely worth your time. As a Fellow, you receive:
We treat our volunteers as junior professionals, not free labour — with real onboarding, real feedback, and real investment in your growth.
