About our Department : The GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) Analyst sits within the Cyber & Information Security Team within our IT Department which is crucial to making sure our employees and students can work effectively, deliver projects, find the right solutions and ensure we develop the technology that will make the biggest difference. Our IT team is made up of around 65 employees with a vast range of skills from Software Development to IT Operations and Security. Our IT Department values employee development and we have lots of great examples of employee progression and promotions within the team. About the Opportunity: Information security is fundamental to protecting our students, colleagues and the data that underpins everything we do. As a GRC Analyst at Arden University, you'll play an important role in ensuring our governance, risk and compliance activities run smoothly, helping to maintain the strong security foundations that support our digital future. Working as part of the Information Security team, you'll coordinate key governance activities, maintain our Information Security Management System (ISMS), support the management of policies and procedures, and help ensure security actions and risks are tracked through to completion. You'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our information security risk register and treatment plans, working closely with colleagues across the University to promote best practice and strengthen our security posture. T his is not a technical role and is not suitable for anyone who has a purely IT or technical background. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in information security. You'll gain hands-on experience across governance, risk management and compliance, working alongside experienced security professionals while developing your knowledge of industry standards, security frameworks and organisational best practice. About You: Essential skills / experience: At least 12 months' experience in an information security, information governance or compliance-related role. Experience supporting or maintaining an Information Security Management System (ISMS). Experience drafting and maintaining policies, procedures and governance documentation. Experience managing or supporting risk registers and treatment plans. Understanding of information security governance, risk management and compliance principles. Knowledge of ISO 27001 and its associated controls. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess security controls and identify areas for improvement. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure actions are followed through to completion. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across technical and non-technical teams. Desirable skills / experience Experience working within a large, complex organisation. Knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and wider data protection principles. Experience using automated Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
