Solve the grid challenges behind the renewable energy transition

Connecting renewable generation to the grid takes more than meeting a set of requirements. It takes controls that respond reliably, models that capture system behaviour and testing that gives confidence in the result.

At DIS/CREADIS, you will work where these disciplines come together, helping customers solve grid integration challenges across wind, solar, battery storage and hybrid power plants.

We are looking for a power systems or controls engineer with experience in power engineering, plant controls or inverter controls who wants to deepen their expertise and tackle a variety of technical projects.

The position can be based in Spain or Denmark, ideally near one of our local offices, with the option to work fully remotely.

The work you will do

You will contribute to controller development, electrical modelling, validation and grid integration studies, helping customers improve plant performance and achieve grid code compliance.

Working alongside our specialists, you will take solutions through structured development processes, from requirements and specifications to testing and release. The scope gives you room to apply your existing strengths and build expertise in other areas of grid integration.

You will join a team of around 40 colleagues, with opportunities to take responsibility and contribute beyond your technical tasks. Your ideas can help improve project delivery and processes, and we value the different experiences and perspectives people bring.

Your experience and approach

You bring relevant experience from a renewable energy developer, operator, utility or original equipment manufacturer. You have a solid foundation in areas such as electrical modelling or power plant controller design, and the curiosity to explore beyond your current specialism.

You take initiative, enjoy working through complex technical problems and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

We are looking for knowledge or experience in several of the following areas:

  • Grid code requirements and grid connection compliance processes in markets such as the EU, US or Australia.
  • Design, control and operation of hybrid renewable plants combining wind, PV, BESS and Power-to-X.
  • Power plant controller development, including active power, frequency, voltage and power oscillation damping, with testing and validation in simulation or laboratory environments.
  • Wind turbine and inverter controls, including fault ride-through, fast current injection, weak-grid controls and grid-forming functionality.
  • Plant and turbine modelling in RMS/EMT tools such as PSCAD, PowerFactory and PSS/E, including source code, library/DLL generation, integration, parameter handling, Git version control and software releases.
  • Plant-level grid and power system studies, including harmonics, transient stability and small-signal stability.
  • Stage-gated product development, including specifications, gate reviews and testing.
  • C, C++, Python or Fortran, and model-based controller development from requirements through laboratory testing, certification and field testing or troubleshooting.

You do not need to cover every area. Your expertise in several of them, combined with a willingness to learn, is what matters.

Technical variety with a clear purpose

Your work will directly influence how renewable power plants perform and meet grid requirements. You will have opportunities to explore different technical challenges, contribute your ideas and extend your knowledge through collaboration with specialists.

This is a role for an engineer who wants to keep developing while delivering solutions that matter to customers.
