Working conditions
Corporate AML Officer (Holding Company Level) and Group AML Governance & Oversight (Subsidiary Level)
Requirements
- Education: University degree in Law (Wirtschaftsjurist / Volljurist), Corporate Governance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Professional experience in AML/CFT, ideally within the regulated FinTech, crypto, or payment services sector.
- Strategic Mindset: Experience working within a holding structure or matrix organization. You are skilled at managing compliance through local personnel rather than executing daily operational screenings.
- Language Skills: Business fluent in both English and German (written and spoken) is required.
- Certifications: Senior industry certifications (e.g., CAMS or equivalent) are highly appreciated.
- Availability: Ability to manage your 4–8 weekly hours flexibly, with availability for pre-scheduled board updates or urgent escalation calls.
Responsibilities
1. Corporate AML Officer (Holding Company Level)
- Entity Registration & Administration: Serve as the officially designated AML Officer for the German Holding Company, ensuring proper entity setup and monitoring.
- Holding-Level Reporting: Review and maintain the internal risk records for the holding entity itself, ensuring absolute regulatory hygiene at the parent level.
- Whistleblowing & Escalation: Act as the intake point for internal compliance escalations or whistleblowing disclosures originating from within the holding company.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact person for German regulatory bodies (e.g., FIU) or law enforcement if required for holding-related matters.
- Second-Line Oversight: Act as the independent ultimate control instance for the group, supervising the anti-money laundering (AML/CFT) frameworks of our regulated operating subsidiaries.
- Framework Harmonization: Review and ensure that the individual AML risk assessments and policies of the foreign operating subsidiaries align with overall group governance standards.
- Management Reporting: Consolidate compliance data from the local subsidiary AML personnel and provide regular, high-level risk reports to the Group Executive Board.
- Escalation Instance: Serve as the strategic point of contact for local compliance teams regarding complex, cross-border AML issues or group-wide risks.
- Audit & Assurance: Periodically monitor the effectiveness of the local compliance setups without involving yourself in their daily operational processes.
Working conditions
- Ultimate Flexibility: Ideal for corporate compliance professionals looking for a secondary, highly flexible governance role.
- Pure Strategy & Governance: Zero operational paperwork—the local subsidiaries handle all daily KYC, transaction monitoring, and local financial intelligence unit (FIU) reporting.
- 100% Remote: Complete freedom to work from home with minimal, digital-first alignment.
