The Group Lead Engineer, Vapor Compression & System Simulations plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our simulation capabilities. They develop and implement innovative techniques across various product platforms, driving strategic advantages and propelling our engineering prowess forward. This leader mentors and guides talented engineers and simulation experts, fostering a collaborative environment where innovation thrives. They also collaborate closely with cross-functional departments like R&D, Product Development, and Manufacturing to seamlessly integrate simulation into the product lifecycle.

This position will serve Rheem North America, located in Fort Smith, AR (Remote).

  • Construct development paths and evaluate technical solutions to new concepts including alternatives of cost, timing, and risks

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the CFD / FEA Team.

  • Manage a team of skilled engineers and simulation experts, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including R&D, Product Development, and Manufacturing, to integrate simulation methodologies into product design and development processes.

  • Develop simulation techniques in CFD, FEA, acoustics, casting, optimization etc. for research and NPI support for various Water heating and Air product platforms.

  • Provide and lead simulation support for global Water and Air business units.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in engineering simulations, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry advancements.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external simulation software vendors and research institutions for access to cutting-edge tools and resources.

  • Train and develop simulation talent globally in the organization.

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering simulations

  • Proficient in utilizing advanced simulation software such as Ansys, Solidworks, COMSOL, GT-Suite

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of simulation tools and techniques primarily in CFD, FEA, optimization and thermodynamic simulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering innovative engineering solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

HOW TO STAND OUT

  • PhD degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or Applied Mathematics
