Job Description:

Move from Advisory to Ownership

After several years in Investment Banking, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance or M&A Advisory, you have built strong expertise in transaction execution.

You are now looking to play a direct role in shaping the growth of an international group, follow transactions beyond closing, and take ownership of strategic projects with a high degree of autonomy.

Join Limagrain, an international agricultural cooperative and a global leader in the seed industry, as a Group M&A Manager.

Reporting to the Group M&A Director and working within the Group Finance Department, you will play a central role in Limagrain's development strategy. Acting as a trusted business partner to our international Business Lines, you will lead strategic growth initiatives and contribute to shaping the future of the Group's portfolio.

This position is designed as a right-hand role to the M&A Director, offering significant autonomy, substantial exposure to senior business leaders, and involvement in high-impact international transactions.

Why is this opportunity different?

Each year, the M&A team reviews approximately 60 acquisition, divestment and strategic partnership opportunities.

Transactions range from small-cap to mid-cap deals, spanning enterprise values from €5 million to over €2 billion.

Recent transactions include:

  • The divestment of AgReliant in the United States (approximately USD 500 million in revenue);
  • The strategic partnership between IMAD and LVS, a global leader in vegetable seeds;
  • The divestment of Milcamps in Belgium;
  • As well as several ongoing strategic transactions across multiple geographies.

You will contribute to a diverse portfolio of international transactions with significant strategic impact, working directly with senior leadership teams across the Group's businesses.

Your Responsibilities

Contribute to the Identification and Assessment of Strategic Opportunities

Working closely with Business Lines and senior management teams, you will:

  • Analyze markets and external growth opportunities;
  • Assess the strategic and financial attractiveness of acquisition targets;
  • Build and challenge investment business cases;
  • Contribute to portfolio management and strategic development discussions across the Group.

Lead Transaction Execution

You will be involved throughout the entire acquisition or divestment process, including:

  • Financial analysis and company valuation;
  • Development of financial models and transaction scenarios;
  • Coordination of due diligence processes with internal experts and external advisors;
  • Management of interactions with target company executives and shareholders;
  • Participation in transaction structuring and negotiations;
  • Coordination of cross-functional project teams and stakeholders;
  • Preparation of decision-making materials for senior leadership.

Depending on transaction size and complexity, you will independently manage selected transactions with a high level of responsibility.

Support Post-Acquisition Integration

Successful transactions go beyond signing and closing. You will therefore also contribute to:

  • Supporting Business Lines in integration planning;
  • Defining and monitoring 100-day integration plans;
  • Coordinating operational teams and corporate functions;
  • Tracking the delivery of identified synergies and value creation initiatives.

Your Profile

You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.

You bring a minimum of five years' experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking or Transaction Services.

You have a strong command of:

  • Financial analysis and value creation drivers;
  • Corporate valuation methodologies;
  • Financial modelling;
  • Due diligence processes;
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.

You are recognized for your:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Capacity to manage complex projects;
  • Project management and stakeholder coordination capabilities;
  • Comfort operating in international environments;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior-level stakeholders.

You are looking for more than a pure execution role and want to become a key contributor to the growth decisions of an international organization.

Fluency in English is essential. International travel will be required on an occasional basis.

What You Will Find at Limagrain

Beyond our compensation and benefits package, we offer:

  • Exposure to a broad range of international transactions;
  • Direct interaction with senior leaders across the Group's Business Lines;
  • End-to-end involvement throughout the transaction lifecycle;
  • A level of autonomy rarely accessible after 5 to 8 years of experience;
  • A key role within a lean and highly visible team;
  • An environment that combines professional ambition with an outstanding quality of life.

Based in Clermont-Ferrand, France, this position offers the opportunity to pursue a demanding M&A career within an international group while enjoying an exceptional living environment.

In addition, we offer:

  • Competitive fixed and variable compensation;
  • Profit-sharing scheme;
  • Retirement savings plan;
  • Hybrid working policy (up to two remote-working days per week);
  • Structured onboarding and professional development programs;
  • Company restaurant;
  • Additional employee benefits and social programs.

Leave advisory behind while keeping the intellectual challenge and complexity of transactions. Gain autonomy, visibility and a direct impact on strategic decisions.

Join Limagrain and help shape the future growth of a global leader.
