A Day in the Life

The Group Purchasing Organization (GPOs) Commercial Enablement role is a key member of the Strategic Accounts Accelerator (SAA). This role is responsible for shaping and enabling Medtronic’s EurAsia approach for priority GPOs, national and regional health authorities, centralized procurement bodies, large healthcare networks, and other purchasing influencers. The role will help elevate transactional procurement relationships into long-term strategic partnerships, strengthen access to healthcare systems, and create incremental profitable growth through coordinated Pan-Medtronic value propositions. Working with regional and country commercial teams, the role will develop the segmentation, governance, operating frameworks, tools, and performance visibility required to engage priority purchasing organizations consistently across EurAsia. The role will directly support priority opportunities while enabling local teams to execute effectively within country-specific healthcare, regulatory, and procurement environments.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year EurAsia approach for priority GPOs, health authorities, centralized procurement bodies, and other purchasing influencers, aligned with SAA and regional priorities.

  • Identify the highest-value opportunities and translate them into a practical roadmap, with clear priorities, milestones, owners, resource requirements, and measures of success.
  • Distinguish strategic partnership opportunities from transactional procurement activity and clarify the appropriate Medtronic engagement model for each.
  • Monitor healthcare-system priorities, procurement models, policy developments, reimbursement changes, regulatory requirements, competitive dynamics, and emerging purchasing trends across EurAsia.
  • Identify, qualify, and accelerate opportunities for cross-selling, up-selling, therapy expansion, market-share growth, and adoption of services and solutions.
  • Lead or support the most complex negotiations, framework agreements, tenders, and multi-year partnership models in collaboration with regional and country teams.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Healthcare Management, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7+ years of relevant experience in strategic account management, business development, healthcare sales, market access, health economics, consulting, project management, procurement strategy, or a related field within healthcare.
  • Proven experience working with GPOs, health authorities, centralized procurement bodies, large healthcare networks, or comparable complex healthcare customers.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex negotiations, framework agreements, contracting, pricing, rebates, and long-term partnership models.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare procurement, group purchasing dynamics, public-sector purchasing frameworks, market access, reimbursement, regulation, and cost-containment practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable commercial outcomes, including profitable growth, market-share expansion, pipeline conversion, and contract performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including business-case development, pricing, profitability analysis, resource prioritization, and performance management.
